Heh, I’d be in too for that but only to give it to you-know-who if I won. 😉

It’s going to be a couple days until I can get that sort of Computer time at home, I should be able to get it out I hope by Tuesday
I work both jobs today and have a meeting tonight
This is SURE a LONG list!!
I already have the gift I was going to use last year. It’s not size specific so can I use that???
It’s most likely going to be a collectible one day!!!???Please try and get me your list as soon as possible so the person buying you goodies can have plenty of time to shop.
As for using the gift you have from last year. Once I get your list of questions I will in turn send you someone elses list. Please review their answers carefully. If you think the gift you have fits their answers & they would like it then sure, send it along. If you can’t find any mention of them being interested in what your gift is then I would say no. For this gift exchange we really want people to tailor the gifts they send to the answers people gave so we are sure everyone ends up with goodies they like. Just because something might be a collectible down the road doesn’t mean that everyone is going to want to collect it. 😉
I hope the surgery goes wonderful & he is better than ever before after.
Do you have pics of the Uni? Imbri from Xanth? 😉
Yes DM, I was talking to you; I went back and edited my post to clarify. EDIT: I’ve just gotten a note from someone that needs to backout so I have a person needing an exchange partner! I’m going to PM you but please send me your list DM!
For everyone else, I just wanted to repost the upcoming timeline! Next wednesday is the last day you will be able to notify me of a need to backout! Here is the schedule again:
Timeline:
November 2nd, 2009 — Sign-ups open
November 9th, 2009 — Sign-ups close
November 11th, 2009 — Swapper notifications
November 25th, 2009 — The last day to notify me of a back-up need

There can never be enough brightly colored Poads living on my desk. 😉
Sorry Dragon Master. 🙁 As I said I would try and acoomodate late comers but it looks like you are already taken care of. If someone else speaks up that they missed it I will let you know & send you their list, ok?
I knew we weren’t going to be able to catch all people that don’t visit often (I thought a week was a good amount of time and some were complaining they had to wait that long to get their names) but I didn’t know anything about trying to do it last year or I would have posted to that thread.
Sorry again!
Thank you Sway! 🙂

Why did you have to step down as King and Queen?
Thank you! 🙂 In the SCA the Kings & Queens have a set time that they sit the throne. Ours is 6 months. My husband competed in Crown Tournament in January (it is an actual competition, not staged) & won so we became Prince & Princess. We were P & P for 4 months as we got ‘up to speed’ on what our responsibilities were going to be. We stepped up as King & Queen in May. In July there was another Crown tournament (every 6 months) to see who would be Crown after us & then they were P & P for the last 4 months.
We might choose th compete in crown tourney again & maybe become King & Queen again but even just being able to do it once is a HUGE honor & accomplishment; most people in the SCA never get to.
Yay! Brought my silver spangle into work today; of course I only have a cell phone pic but you can see my little brood:
Here is the COA for everyone to see as well. 🙂
abatos wrote:I love the your crown with the unicorns! They look quite Friesian-like ;). Thank you for sharing those photos! 🙂
Heehee; I call them ‘Friesiacorns’. 🙂 I was very specific about how the unicorn needed to look when representing me; no skinny goat like ones for me!
No! No contacting your recipient until after they get their goodies! 🙂
On the Canada question, email me specifics & I will work out details if needed!
Woohoo my Silver Spangle Paod is here! She is alot darker than she looks in pics (pretty black on the bottom actually) but I luff her! Pics tomorrow!
Dragons4Life wrote:Whoa those are GORGEOUS!! Man, some really cool designs too, I love the unicorns and the birds! (Crows or ravens I assume?)
Ravens. 🙂 My husband’s SCA name is ‘Hrafn’ which means ‘Raven’ in Old Norse. 🙂
Here is Hubbys; his is argentium sterling silver, onyx & black diopside

I mentioned a while back that I do medieval reenactment with the SCA & currently was the Queen of Ansteorra (Texas & Oklahoma). I also mentioned that I had to cut back on my Windstone spending (& very nearly missed being able to buy the Silver Spangle Poad but thankfully she is arriving at my house today!) due to paying off some very expensive coronets my Husband & I were getting once we stepped down as King & Queen. I also promised I would share pics of mine when I got it.
Well, we stepped down this past Saturday (man, I cried soooooo much) & so I have pics for you! 🙂 The coronet was designed by me & made by my friend Amy. It is made of argentium silver & has real garnets set in all but one of the roses (the center front rose has a 10 pointed star which is the symbol of our kingdom) & is lined & padded with velvet.
I have to say these pictures REALLY don’t do it any justice; they are sooo much prettier in real life!
Overall coronet
Close up of front
Close up of a small rose
Close up of a large rose w/ Unicorns
I will share Hubby’s coronet in another post; need to grab the pics from him.
Here are two pics from our last court as well.
Opening words of the final court (I look calm-ish. I was so not calm)
Kneeling before Hubby as he moves to take off my crown. This picture kills me.
So now we are a Count & Countess & don’t wear the gold kingdom crowns anymore but rather the silver ones that we had made to suit our personal tastes. 🙂
