Just need to whine. The dry air combined with a need to frequently wash my hands is causing me excessively dry skin on the backs of my hands. It’s so bad, that it’s either cracking and bleeding in places (my knuckles look like I went 12 rounds with a wall), or looks like I kept burning my hand against a hot iron in others. It hurts so bad all the time! Moisturizing and Vitamin E soaps have only provided minimal relief. The nurses at my work highly recommended two skin care products, however, they both contain petroleum or other refined oil based ingredients. Which I’m trying to avoid, so I’m using them sparingly. And night is the only time I can use these products as they get washed off in the frequent hand washing. I think I’m going to buy coconut oil tomorrow and maybe soak gloves in it and wear them every night lol Maybe this will become a Heck Yeah soon enough =)
My aunt’s a florist and her hands are also very dry. She said that when it gets really bad, she slathers on regular hand cream and puts on small cotton socks on her hands just before going to bed. Dunno if that would be any help…
I worked as a florist as well and the stuff I used all the time had been developed for deep sea commercial fishing (lots of cold salt water…) It’s Eucerin Hand Cream. Comes in a jar, not a tube, is very thick, sorta like lard or Crisco (that just sounds gross…) but it works a charm. Put it on (lots) rub in til the skin won’t absorb any more then put on cotton gloves. Works a treat. I also use it on the heels of my feet durinng the winter when they crack and bleed, only I put on wool socks ‘stead of gloves… *snerk!*

Surgeon’s Skin Secret is great too. I even use it to keep my lips from getting chapped.

The Autumn Wizard Cat has yellow eyes. I’d still like to see this one with yellow eyes. I do like white cats with blue eyes, but I like the overall look of this one best with yellow.
Spent the last four days in the hospital. Internal bleeding. Got 2 units of plasma, 2 units of blood and scoped from both ends. No fun. They stopped the bleeding but never found out for sure what was bleeding. They do believe the blood thinner I was on caused it, so I’m off that now. Hated taking it anyway. It’s the second time it’s put me in the hospital. The good thing is, they found and removed two polyps, and one of them was pre-cancerous. I guess finding those was worth it.
