Nope, apparently it was a normal class and everyhting. Must be small shows. He was scary. Cute, but scarey..

Good luck with your sells! I’m sure you’ll do great. πŸ˜€ Dappling doesn’t look like a painting skill that is easy to master.

You should have seen my first ones 😯

I remember this one horse, I painted him grey, then painted white spots overtop πŸ˜• Scarey part is, the gal has had that horse for…3 years now? it NAN’d for her a lot. I remember him, he was awful. haha

Yup, I painted that one the other night. I ordered in a bunch of those Constantine horses, and a lot of them arrived scratched, so I have to repaint them all to get my money back(you know how Peter Stone is…..). They were a bad gamble. I’m probably not carrying Stone horses anymore.

I hear you on selling them to fund the Windstones. I’m hoping this guy will cover my curls and coil order when he sells πŸ˜€

Oh Lord, yes I know! Those things are way too expensive. That’s another reason I gave up the model horse hobby. I can’t afford them anymore! I wanted to go to Equlilocity this year, but I’ll max out my credit card for sure… and my husband will strangle me! That sucks about the Constantine models though. I’m surprised a bunch came in scratched like that. Can’t they take them back if damaged goods?

Your paint jobs are nice though, and I think you’ll be able to sell them to cover you on the dragons you bought. You’ll probably get enough to buy another one too! The model in the pic looks good enough to be LSQ in my opinion. Collectors love those dappled ones! πŸ˜‰

Peter Stone is “odd” about his return policy. I guess. I donno. Maybe my standards are too high. I paid out the nose to buy those horses, paid the shipping, would have to pay the shipping to ship them back, and wait for 2 months til they got around to fixing them. I just figure, if dealers have to pay so much per horse plus shipping, they ought to arrive without scratches.

The horse shown I just finished tonight. I hope he sells quick. I marked him at $175, that would cover his cost, and one dragon. So here’s hoping. He is totally LSQ, I hope someone does buy him and show him. Most of my customs go overseas.

I was going to go to BF and Equlicity this year, but hubby and I decided, rather than do that this year, I’m goign to take a whole week off of painting next year, and go down for NAN, BF, and Equ. 7 days of model horses. Man. I’ll be so broke, and so horsed out. It’ll be great.

Donno. Maybe. I don’t have that great of a memory either haha.

    what is overspray?

    (both dapples look awesome)

On the pinto, all around the markings, there’s little dots, instead of a nice crisp marking.

Your dappling is amazing, bluepony! And I don’t think the pinto looks that bad, really.

I am really hard on myself sometimes. She’s not horrible, but airbrush’d pinto’s just don’t turn out as well as someone who takes the time to do them right. I quoted the gal next to nothing to do that(I think $50 plus shipping) just because, even though it took a half hour, and I went real slow, it just didn’t turn out. She is kinda cute, but the more I look at her, the most I think she could be something really cool if redone.

Yah, I love that dapple grey!! I wanna know too, how did you do the dapples with the airbush? White over grey, grey over white, avoidance? I’m so close to just saying screw it and getting an airbrush w/ my credit card, seeing your paintjobs isn’t helping my will power!! πŸ˜†

    haha.
It’s taken me 3 years to do decent dapple greys. I paint about 15 a month, which has spured things along a lot.
I do 8 layers, starting on white. This uni didn’t get 8, I think she only got 5. My darker ones, like this, get about 8 layers. Takes me about 3 hours to do a horse like that.

Hubby is actually wanting me to upgrade my airbrush again. Right now I use an Eclipse($85ish) and an HP-C ($125-150). I have my eye on one of the newer ones that are about $300, but I gotta get my money back out of the horses I bought last week before I can do anything fun like that πŸ˜•

Thanks. She’s actually not so washed out and stark in person, the flash really doens’t do well with these guys sometimes πŸ˜•

You can fix the paint. Just hand paint the markings larger and paint over the overspray.

Yeah, I know, I was thinking about totally redoing her though. Maybe similar pattern but bay or something. Black and white is very bland. She’s cute and all, but I donno.

in reply to: 2 New Unicorns and Really Bad Pix #593924

Ok, I didn’t think I’d be painting these, but the gal who was sending the big commission hasn’t even shipped the horses yet (but she paid! πŸ˜€ ) so I had a few moments to paint. I’ve gotten a lot of dapple grey requests on other horses, so that’s what I painted last night, and this pretty came about. I know this is just about an awful picture of her, my greys are very nice. I actally really like her, but probably can’t keep her just because of a bad buisness deal I made and am STILL paying for. gag. Anyway, here she is. She will have a black mane and tail, maybe one white sock to give her some color, brown eyes.

The second one I’m slightly annoyed about. Someone non-windstoneland commissioned an “airbrushed black and white pinto”, sent me a picture, ect. Well, I tried to tell her that is a BAD idea, airbrushing pinto markings creates overspray, and DUH, this one has it.. well, I sent her pxi of this gal 2 weeks ago, and never heard back. I did have a better picture, I’m not sure hwhere it went. This one is really quick. Does anyone think I should keep working on her, or just scrape her altogether? I was thinking about doing something similar to this, but by hand, so there isn’t so much overspray.

Wow, sorry the pic is so insianly dark.

Well, one of the Clysdales at Busch Gardens is named ‘Bud’. πŸ˜† The others all have different names. There are only a couple that seem to live there permanently, the others rotate in and out. The foals are really adorable!!! It’s such fun to see one frisking about the paddock. πŸ˜€

The one I remembered was named “Matt”. The ones who stay there are probably retired. Foals are always adorable πŸ˜€ I wanna come stay with you and go there sometime haha.

And I do love the Clydsdales. We live close to Busch Gardens and they always have at least 5-6 Clysdales stabled there, including a mare and foal. That’s my favorite part of the park. πŸ˜€

LUCKY DUCK! MAN! that would be so cool.

I remember many many moons ago I was somewhere, and the Budwiser herd was there. BOY those boys travel in style. Golly. they had this slick trailer they lived in, and they were spotlessly groomed. They were just gorgious. My mom’s husband thoughts they’d be named after beer, like Coors, but that’s dumb. Who’d name thier maskots after competition! haha.

I love Clydesdales – I watch the SuperBowl just for the new Budweiser Clydesdale commercial. I was seriously bummed this year when they didn’t have one. πŸ˜₯ So I really wanted an unicorn painted like one. I can’t believe what a great job bluepony78 did! *happy dance*

I LOVE those commericals! the one where the colts were tossing snowballs at the older horses, so the older horse banged his butt against the tree and got them covered with snow! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

There was a website that had all of those, anyone know what it is?
