(aceo from a year ago)some more can be foun in my deviant gallery here:
http://akeyla.deviantart.com/gallery/If I proceed to sketch I’d need to know more than dragonrider and colors, but also kind of dragon ( in my gallery basically no dragon exists twice), what pose (there are many ways to sit on a dragon, … and many saddles) what angle, which armor (fantasy, traditional, etc blabla).
Of course you can say its my choice, but it makes things much easyer to know more details.
question of the medium would be the next argument πhehe, lesse, I own exactly 5 Windstones, one colored Griffin PYO by ski, one blank griffin, two winged siamese and one green curl by Basil.
I just found out, my screen setting is wrong, you are seeing my artworks much brighter/colorful than I drew them/saw them on my screen. I dont draw THAT colorful and I am not on weed. Oh crap, I hope I can reset my laptop or IΒ΄ll have a serious problem.
oi π I’m interested, though it depends what Windstone it is, can I have some more lines to it? a dragon? griffin? what color?
After many years of fighting cancer Stan Winston died on the 17th.
I strongly believ that many movies only were what they became because of him. He was the lord of special effects and puppetry. The guy who brough the dinosaurs to life.
May his works be carried on by his studios.
Rest in peace, Stan Winston, your works will never be forgottenhad 5 hours sleep because of this boy;)
thanks π
enjoy Safran as long as you can, he wont stay long in the book. But more I wont say. Oh, yes, he’s an excellent swordfighter and his father was a human.
I’m happy that digitalartwork finally allows those minor details I could never do right with watercolors or pencils or on sculptures: black peacock on his body parts.
gottseidank chasch du dΓΌtsch, susch mΓΌesst i di is negschte jahrhundert vertrΓΆschte, will weni das auno ΓΌbersetze mΓΌesst, heyeyey!
I promise to send you an update and the writing files, as soon as I jump over my own shade of selfcriticismpagedestruction π
I’ve also been thinking to make a short, but for some reason I cant, not because I cant grasp it or have no thread (the story’s in my head since 1994) but because I just… cant. Writers sickness? or even worse, artist-writer sickness combined? I dont know π
ehdit:
oh, one more. Last night I felt like making character patterns. I’m gonna copypaste my LJ entry.
really really simple testing of coloration patterns. Originally the bodyforms were thought for Antralis (protagonist) and Jyrell (also an important figure) only, hence the other body’s are the same. I want to redo them in their “right bodys” of course. I just was to lazy right now.
Basically I wanted to see how far I’ve gotten away from their original forms. Which I think they sufficiently did. Of course, if you know the play and see the images you will be reminded. But from the moment on they tear out their throats or ride huge, horned horse-like beings the connection will be blown away. Like humans they also work with their hair, which can be braided, cut or worn open and long (hip lenght). If you wonder about their body form, at an age of 24-26 the males grow again to the behemont adult, called “mahroch”. The believed reason of the growing is hunting. And because that age brings a 38% dying rate it is “delayed” to give them some time for offspring before that. The growing gene of the male often causes severe disformations and problems(blindness and pain) to cathuman/human hybrids.PS: there are dragons in the novel too. and ramhorned horses and unicorns. I promise to paint them more.
EDIT 2:
sorry, creative night. Continuation:
dehh, I lovez mah tablet π
thanks all!
@Basil
working at it π
I currently have about 13 chapters Γ 12 pages, which approximately is the middle, Buuuuuhhhhttt we are talking of 10 years difference here, hence I get rabbies reading my ancient writings and descripts and am currently working them up.
I’ve been seriously thinking to snatch my best friend and tell her the story, because sometimes, on some weird days, I am actually afraid I’d not get to finnish it and… well, I am pretty sure I’d come back as a ghost to finnish it. heheh…. my weird thoughts before going to bed.*g*
Perhaps its because the book contains stuff I indirectly wish to say to the reader, or just writing down for myself. One of them is accepting death and believing in yourself.anyhow, more quick doodles. trying to train my faces
again novel “people” from front to back, Antralis, Safran and Fluke.
wow!
awesome!reminds me of my old digicam, which was so slow that the whole storm would be over before the camera even realized I wanted to take a picture. I’ve always wanted a pic like this so bad.
*pouts and puts sheep hair away*
oh! hey! but I just got neat 1 meter long horsehair! doesnt stink but only comes in gray!
hehe
digital wacom bamboo stuffzs π
doodles from today, first two are quick random random sketches, I just let them flow into existance. 15 min each, rough brushes (healthy for meh brain)
and the last is a novel illustration, work in process.Greater Basilisk wrote:π π π I don’t think I could grow a beard if I tried. I suppose I could put them in my hair… but then they’d get smushed in the motorcycle helmet.
growing a beard can be so easyly helped. I still have a huuuge piece of brownish, curly, fresh and oily sheepfur. Granted, you’d need some aftershave, a lot of perfume and most likely a little car pinetree, but you’d have the bushyest gloriness of all beards π
I also have two component glue. That thing will never come off π even if you go swimming πincredibly beautiful!
I especially like the depth of the colors, they suck you in. I know it isnt healthy for the figure, but I’d not glaze him, he’d lose this “suck in” effect.ah, you can still grow a beard and tie them on it π
