That fox sculpt is stunning! Looking forward to seeing what else Melody/Windstone does with it. π
Ugh, the heat is awful! I’m on a vacation to the Idaho area with my mom to celebrate turning 40 last week, and this heat wave is making it a lot less fun than I hoped. We went into Glacier for a day on Saturday but only enjoyed the morning (construction in the park didn’t help) and yesterday we drove from that area to Spokane Valley, and it was brutal. We got out for a little bit at Sandpoint and Coeur d’Alene…can’t imagine being out all day! :O
Hoping to somehow enjoy something in Spokane today even though it only got DOWN to the 80s. So much for a trip to the mountains to escape the heat, ha ha! π₯
Joining in with etruscan…I keep hearing how hard it is for Windstone to get a smooth finish and clean paint job on the pebble sculpts, especially the tiny ones, which led me to assume that it might be harder for Windstone to make a profit when it takes them a disproportionate amount of time/effort to get the pebbles ‘right.’ Of course, other sculpts have their own issues (horns, need for stencils, pewter parts) but as they have a higher price point, they might be more worth the effort.
Like others have said, there’s nothing trite or ‘cute’ about that cougar sculpture. It is stunning, and I hope more come out in more colors.
I can certainly understand where Melody might want a break from sculpting so many scales and feathers, but I agree that the fantasy, detailed sculpts are a less overpopulated market.
Just my two cents.
They look stunning together! Thanks for sharing photos! π

Congrats, pony-up! π Enjoy!
I like the Snow Leopard male unicorn’s paint job. The markings are really nicely vivid on him. But my favorite feature is the bands of color in his mane. Not that anyone has to worry about me bidding mind you.
I agree–every detail of the paint job on this sculpture is just stunning. But I need to stay out of this…
I’m guessing Timber is a flat-coated retriever. π
Wow! π
Wow, love the eye color on that unicorn! π
WOW ! I just cant get over all these wonderful ebay pieces that have been available lately !
I been trying to get one to, but havent had much luck. The African wild dog Unicorns, which I loved, all galloped out of my claws right at the last second… literally ! I swear I had thought I had won the last one, then at the very last second it said I was out bid, then the auction was over. I was stunned and a little heart-broken that day. I even looked at the bidding times, and for that one the last winning bidder won their bid at 20:00:25 , when the auction was supposed to end at 20:00 … π I guess ebay goes by the seconds as well, and must allow bids until 20:00:59 ..
Oh well…. I do hope to get a ebay piece some day ! And with my birthday around the corner, Im hoping to spot a special “must-have” piece sooner than later, lol ! *crosses fingers and toes*
Either way, these auctions have sure been entertaining !!
Im not sure if you guys keep track of all the special ebay pieces or not, but I started a collection on ebay awhile back so the past ebay pieces can still be viewed. You can see the collection here : http://r.ebay.com/v9qSgd (I hope that link works)
That’s really neat, Amstaff. Thanks so much for sharing your link! π
Okay, really, I do NOT like pink. Just not my color! BUT, these dragons are very beautiful! Understated and elegant….very, very pretty! Great job with making pink palatable for me. π
I’m with Chloe, they don’t revolt me nearly as much as I thought the would. Maybe the silver details help…
I’m glad I lost by a goodly chunk of change–it would have been worse if it was close! π
Congrats, foxfeather! Hope you love it! π
Eeee! I was so hoping she would paint one like a snow leopard! π Probably can’t win it, but hopefully that will entice her to paint more!
