My riding students that used my horses and not their own for lessons always gave my horses cards for Chrismas. I had to start putting a bulletin board on the wall across from one of my stallions’ stalls so he wouldn’t be able to eat his cards.
Health care in the US is horrendous.. 🙁 ..When I first started my horse training business, I had to choose between health and liability insurance because of the high cost. I chose liability to protect myself mainly from fraudulent claims. So, when health problems disabled me, I found myself battling both the state and federal governments for the right to much needed medical assistance. It’s a sin the way the doctors that work for government agencies treat patients. I could have had a seizure right in front of them or died from an odd turning of my head putting undue pressure on my spinal cord and they still would have told me to get up because there was nothing wrong with me.
I can’t add anything to what has already been said by Barrdwing, Rusti and ddvm. However, if that is a recent pic, Stoph certainly does look healthy–nice weight (doesn’t think she looks obese), shiney coat and bright eyes. Hopefully, that will assist your kitty during treatment from the vet. A lot of cats are already in failing health before their humans take them in for an examination. Hang in there, keschete.
I’m so sorry copper. That last act of love to allow a cherished animal companion dignity in passing on is never an easy one. There have been horses, dogs and cats that have been special to me. Each one took a bit of my heart when the choice had to be made for them but the time with them had enriched my life. I’m sure that Mitzy not only enriched your life but that you did the same for her. My heart goes out to you.
