I love what you have going with this, but it would look better with longer ears. You can get an epoxy sculpt to add on to the length of the ears if you wanted. I’ll probably do that in the future if I make a winged fox.
Anyway, love the wings and direction you’re going with this.
Yep, the ATC Kitsune cards were mine with the moving tails. I plan to make more moving tail kitcunes in the near future and post them to Ebay. I’ll let you all know when I do though because I plan on doing a pheonix like that also, and a foo dog with a moving ball (if possible). That, and some gemstones cards. I have too many ideas…but no time to do them in.
I could not shake the mold or even tap it as much as I wanted to because of the tearing to the mold itself. I had to hold it together by hand. Right now I am making a second casting since I duct taped and rubber-banded it together but even so, I can’t get all the air bubbles out since I can’t manipulate it due to leakage. I am trying to think of other ways to do this but am coming up with useless ideas…like making a hard sculpy mold and then just using sculpy to create more clay copies. It probably wouldn’t work as well having to piece two halves together and eliminate the seam because getting something out of a sculpy-made mold would be extremely difficult. I am wondering if casting resin might be better than plaster but again, leakage. I’m kinda at a loss. I would like to try perhaps another form of mold though and remake a new flexible mold if I can find something.
You’re the first on-line to say so and thanks! The thread is still active. I posted it all last night.
Thanks for the info. I’ll look it up…and let’s see your photos too. I posted mine.
I created a super sculpy Neko Cat I wanted to make a mold of and then plastercast a few to custom paint. I made the cat and then used The Amazing Mold Putty to create the mold. I did the mold but I had to cut the original cat out of it to release it. Then in trying to get the first plaster mold out of it it tore even more, plus the plaster mold broke in a couple areas. Now I don’t know if I can make more plaster molds and try again or if it’s worth my time trying. Does anyone know a place I can get a limited run of them made by people who are better at mold making? Or somebody that can make a mold for me that works? I’m really upset over all the hard work and money I put into this. Pictures Here:
http://www.watergazersden.com/node/32979#comment-403046Yeah, the only problem would be you’d almost have to do commissions for them because everyone has their own color concept for a kitsune, lol…I have only rarely seen an all red kitsune. I would think you’d see a nice grey fox one though…that’s what I personally would do.
A bat winged pegasus would be awesome, and I secnd all ideas aformentioned of course…but what about the hippocampus? That would be awesome too and I know you said you wanted to do it. Go for it. As for pose…man, want ideas? Lol, like you need any. Also, what about a kitsune-the multi-tailed fox? A lot of folks really love them and show them off in all colors…or here’s a kicker…a foo dog! A foo dog in your style would rock.
I’m really interested in if you may plan on releasing a chinese dragon PYO. Since a lot of people have been trying out koi colors on the KiRins, I think putting out a dragon with those same type of scales as made for the KiRin would benefit the koi look but also would allow for so much more color choices which…and would be a bit more simple to paint than the little young dragon already released. Not that we are never happy and always demand more, but I just figured naturally a chinese dragon would be a staple figure to make.
Also, are there any plans for a flap cat? I just assume there are but I figured I’d just ask. BTW I love the PYO wolf! I’d die to see a PYO kackalope but I thik that’s pushing it, lol. A pheonix would be awesome as well sometime down the line.
The kiRin is my favorite. I want to make one of them for myself just like that. But you know, I hope they do a chinese dragon so I could make a koi dragon instead.
Yep, just posted the link to the first entry, and also submitted to Windstone’s gallery.
I find the KiRin difficult to paint and make the scales look good, but this combo is really awesome. At first the scales were to be all basic black without silver. I let that sit a while as I did the mane and face and decided it was just way too flat. Black really wipes out all detail, so I decided to try and use the silver I had on the belly scales to antique the scales and boom, the whole thing just looks like the scales on a koi or something. I am so going to paint another KiRin like this again…and if not with a blue and purple mane then a red mane of flames.
I just finished up painting a commission on a KiRin to sorta match the black pegasus. I don’t know if I really matched it well enough and I did take a few liberties, but I do have to say it’s killer when you paint their scales in black and use silver highlights!

I’ll post them to my Windstone gallery if I can. I may need to delete something in there to do it. Sorry for the cruddy background…I didn’t feel like freezing outside.Lol, awesome thanks. I have to admit though, the emperor came in the original box and I only added extra supports all around. I am so glad not one item I shipped for the 50% sale thing got damaged in any way in transit.
Also, thanks for bidding for me!
Another thing, I believe the store still have the Noah’s Ark, Bear Butt Candleholder, and owl sconce left.
Most of the time though the action happens in the last few minutes. I think overall wolves would do better than griffins though, you know? I don’t know…you never know how these things turn out. I had an auction go for over $200 once, and the same auction later went for just opening bid. Who knows…good luck though on yours.
