My husband and his friends are all car nuts…One of our friends (the wife’s car) has a new Shelby Cobra in White with the red stripes and red interior. It is gorgeous. She is my age (40’ish) and got a ticket for reckless op and excessive accelleration…some young punk in a 4 cylinder something challenged her in traffic and she finally got enough. Unfortunately a cop was a few cars back….
Anyways, she loves the car and they got it for close to sticker…so good luck! Life is short! Enjoy it!
Oh wow! Your friend has the Shelby Cobra Red Appearance Package? Thats awesome! My husband has the exact same car except its the other red appearance package color option- black with red stripes. It is a beautiful car, but christ, it has so much power, I am afraid to ride with him in it (plus he drives it like a madman) haha.
You guys all have really nice ones. I would love to go for a big/tall hutch to display mine in like a lot of you have, but my apartment is much too small to fit one.
My main concern is how much my glass shelves can hold.
I am getting an RF Old Warrior in the mail sometime this week and Id like to put it between my Black Gold Male and Scratcher (I dont think it would fit very well between the Lap and Mother dragon on the bottom). But I’m not sure about how much the glass holds. Anyone know what the average is? (I got the shelving unit from Ikea)
Its holding 15 pounds right now on the middle shelf where Id like to put the OW, and the OW is about another 15 pounds. Would 30 be too much for the average shelf? I just dont want it to break and crash onto the other dragons below.

I was just wondering how you guys store your Windstones- particularly those of you who have display cabinets. I (currently) have my Windstones stored in a short/small glass display cabinet I got from Ikea, but I’m running out of room and frankly I worry about how well the glass shelves will hold up under the wieght. I’m afraid to put more than two large dragons on each shelf.
So where did you guys get yours? Any tips for finding a new one? I’d like to find one thats relatively short (no tall ones) and has wooden shelves (since I’m paranoid) but glass doors so you can see inside.AdaraSky wrote:http://www.myspace.com/baby97girl

Its my first Red Fire and my first Old Warrior.Congrats on getting one! 😀 I can honestly say that you will not be dissapointed. Red fire is beautiful on the OW. I got mine a few days ago, and he is LOVE!!! I’m trying to think of a good name for him.
Thats great you got one too! Did you post pictures of it somewhere here that I can look at? I’ve only seen the ones posted on Astral Castle. I was originally planning to get a RF lap and male, but when I saw the OW on Dave’s site I knew I had to have him instead.

I want an OW so badly, but none of the colors he currently comes in I like. I would buy a RF OW though! He might end up to be my first OW too! if I ever get some more money 🙂I will definitely be posting pictures. And I know what you mean- I’m very picky about the colors too. And the money thing is relatable as well. I spent the last several months saving up for this OW, which was very hard to do with Christmas and then it seems like more than half of my friends and family have birthdays in january haha. But now he is finally on his way and I’ll be chasing my tail for the next several days. 😆

I miss Tim, give snuzzes to your boys for me!
Aww Tim sounds so sweet- thats so cool you got to bring him to work. I was never able to harness/leash train my babies, they just chew on it and if they get too nervous they poop, so that would’ve been a bit of a problem out in the world haha.
And I’ve never given my rats puffed rice before, but I’ll have to try that.Its strange that this thread got bumped today, I was thinking of doing an update- I couldnt sleep last night thinking about my Nibs.
He was doing great for a while, running around perfectly normally, even better and faster than the vet expected him to. He didnt bother his stitches, they were taken out without any problems and he was back to his old self.
But yesterday when I took him out of his cage to clean it, I noticed that like the vet had said would eventually happen, his lump is coming back. Its small right now, but if it grows as fast as it did last time it wont be long before its back to its old size and giving him more problems.So theres really not anything I can do for him at this point. Eventually it’ll get so big that he wont be able to use the bathroom and that will cause all sorts of pain/damage, and if I have it removed again, it will just come back. So I’ll leave him alone for now, he really dosnt seem to notice it. But I dont think hes got a whole lot of time left before we’re going to have to take him to the vet and have him put down. Its so sad, but at least we bought him a little more time with the surgery. It didnt seem like a lot to me, but with their already small lifespans, it was about a few years comparatively.
And as sad as I am for Nibs, I am more worried about his brother Socrates. They have never, ever been separated. Even when Nibs had his surgery, the vet let Socrates stay with him overnight even though Socrates didnt need anything done. I’m just scared about how he is going to handle being alone, and I dont want to try and get another rat to keep him company because I’m afraid he would just fight with it. Hes never been with any other rat and has a very assertive personality.
