I’m not watching, I loved the original series though. I think it’s a sacrilege that they used a mustang rather than a car much more like the original KITT. I think I’m the only person in the world not impressed by the last decade of ‘stangs. 🙄
February 18, 2008 at 8:19 pm #666557Argh!!! That’s what I forgot to watch last night!!! After hearing commercials on the radio about it all day… I still forgot. I really wanted to see the car. I am a huge Mustang fan… and hope to own a Shelby Cobra one day. *sigh*
February 18, 2008 at 8:28 pm #666558I LOVE mustangs but only the 99-04 body style. I just can’t get into the new body style although kitt did look good last night. One day I will own a cobra or a roush stage 3 but its not going to be any time soon lol.
February 18, 2008 at 10:45 pm #666559So you probably wouldn’t like mine then! 😆 It’s a white 05′. Not a GT, but was good enough for my first Mustang. I’m ready to upgrade now… but my spouse is not! He probably won’t ever be though. 🙄

They’re airing it again Saturday night, 8 central.
February 18, 2008 at 11:32 pm #666561Nothing against Fords but I’m not thrilled that they used a mustang for Kitt. I didn’t watch it.

IMO double wings and mustangs do not mix. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be but my husband said it was just a giant ford commercial.
Edit: my husband just told me that Val Kilmer was the voice for kit in this movie?
Hehehe, about the double wing…yep..
I am forever having hot shots that are 17 in their Honda Civic with the picnic table attached to the hatch back coming up beside me when I am in either the Vette or worse the Viper, reving up their 4 cylinder engines that sound like lawnmower engines).
Good Lord! I try to be nice to them and smile….but at some point it is just riduculous!
So the Knight Rider double wing made me shake my head in disgrace also!!!
Over all it was a pretty good show. At least in encourages car fanatics and that is a good thing!

My husband and his friends are all car nuts…One of our friends (the wife’s car) has a new Shelby Cobra in White with the red stripes and red interior. It is gorgeous. She is my age (40’ish) and got a ticket for reckless op and excessive accelleration…some young punk in a 4 cylinder something challenged her in traffic and she finally got enough. Unfortunately a cop was a few cars back….
Anyways, she loves the car and they got it for close to sticker…so good luck! Life is short! Enjoy it!

I know exactly what you guys are talking about with those double wings! Those high up metal shopping cart looking things are very stupid looking too. Like the huge annoying exhaust pipe tips aren’t enough! 😆 Young guys just think that looks real cool or something. I don’t get it. 🙄
February 19, 2008 at 2:35 am #666565Yeah my mustang is only a 6 cylinder but I still have fun modifying it. I used to show it in car shows but I wasn’t able to make any shows last year with everything that was going on. I learned about modifying 6 cylinder mustangs on a message board I found (3.8mustang). I’ve even posted a couple of how to articles with some of the things I’ve done to my car. You don’t need 8 cylinders to have fun in a mustang. Of course I still want a GT or cobra but it will take me years to save up for one and I will probably keep my six banger just because I like it so much.

Yeah, it would be kinda hard for me to resist showing that punk who’s got the faster car too! You just never know when a cop is sitting around though. I bet that is a real nice car she has. I see a few of them every now and then. I would take one in just about any color, but would love the black with gold stripes. *drool*
I look at life the same way… as being short, so enjoy it. I do hope one day I can get myself one of those beauties. *sigh*

Oh yeah, I really like mine too. I’m very protective of it too. Probably too protective of it actually 😆 I freaked out on my husband one time, because he scraped the bottom lip of the front bumper off the edge of a side walk while parking it. I spent $140.00 to get it retouched… only to have him do it again less than a year later! 😡 This time he cracked the bottom lip. Needless to say… he doesn’t drive it as much now. He’s afraid of doing something else that will make me mad. So I guess I am a little protective of it. 😆 I always wanted a Mustang though, and my mom wouldn’t let me get one when I lived at home. Even though she had 3 herself! I think I ended up getting one only a few months after moving out. I couldn’t wait! I think that was one of the most exciting days of my life!! They are fun cars though.
Saving up for a Cobra is gonna be tough. Especially as long as we keep buying Windstones! 😆
February 19, 2008 at 6:25 am #666568I probably would have watched it if I was home last night. I remember watching the original when i was a kid. however it was my sisters 21st b-day so we went to el torito it was good but the service sucked, we got there close to closing time.
I would help but I am just to tired to get out of bed today~

Oh wow! Your friend has the Shelby Cobra Red Appearance Package? Thats awesome! My husband has the exact same car except its the other red appearance package color option- black with red stripes. It is a beautiful car, but christ, it has so much power, I am afraid to ride with him in it (plus he drives it like a madman) haha.

Yes, I was impressed by that. It was a decent remix too. I loved Knight Rider back in the eighties. Usually don’t like the new remakes though. What they did to Dukes of Hazzard… (shudders).
Honestly though, my favorite of the old eighties shows along this line was Airwolf. Loved that theme song. Wanted to marry the actor that played Stringfellow Hawk.
