March 8, 2007 at 3:52 am in reply to: How about adding a pre-ordering feature to the website? #548869
The pre-order thing could be helpful. But I am REALLY up for the idea of adding a shopping cart for the direct sales page!!! I’m all about the secure online ordering via credit/check card, or after I fill out the order form on your website, forward me directly to Paypal so I can pay ya! I’m not always around my email every day unfortunatly, so this particular method works best for me personally. I would not have to worry about being online to get my order request responses from windstone, or check my paypal account every few hours to see if the paypal bill was sent to me so I can pay it (my paypal addy is different than my email addy).
Being able to simply order off the website via credit card, paypal or whatever-so I can be done with it in one sitting would be awesome! Just give us a little tab with options on what happens should you be out of stock on that item. Like a lot of websites offer tabs to click, “ship only when order is complete”, “ship in stock items now, out of stock as they become available (extra shipping charges will apply”…blah blah, yada yada).. I don’t even care if you don’t have an exact shipping calculator, many model horse websites I order from just estimate shipping for you when you place your order, then after they process your order they email you with a receipt showing you the exact amount charged to your credit card and the exact amount of shipping charged. That’s cool with me!
This would be a-w-e-s-o-m-e
My vote is for the one with the purplish stripes and the green eye.

UUUUGGGGHHHHH siberakh1 (or whoever ended up getting it), I hate you right now!!!! 😈 😉
I cannot even tell you how long I’ve wanted a flippin’ Unicorn gargoyle. The last one on eBay went for like $130-somethin and I just did not want to pay that much for him. I had the high bid for a bit. Maybe one day, I’ll find one for $100 or so. Either that or get desperate enough to pay more money for him. 🙄
Ooooooo weeeeelllll….
Glad you got one (if you in fact, did)!
I’d like to get three, depending on what is being offered to me. I need dragons mostly, but could also take a griffin or another Kirin. On the KiRins, I don’t need red, brown or orange colored eyes. On the griffin and dragon I could use any color eyes except for brown, orange and light yellow.
Thanks 😉
Thanks!
I just use a metallic bronze on the wings to get the burnished look. The metallic highlights on the wings is a combo of metallic bronze and light copper. The wolf’s basecoat was a reddish brown color, similar to burnt sienna but a little bit more red.
Yeah my color palette consists of horse colors mostly, there are only so many colors I had to work with at the time I started these first four. Now I’ve got reds, purples, blues, some greens. Maybe on the next four I will go a little bit more colorful, I dunno. Purple is one of my favorite colors, so I may play with that next go round.
😉
Let me know what you think, be it good or bad.

He has flown off to ebay! Thanks! 😉
Thanks for the words guys, even on your opinions of my pricing.
I’m still not comfortable pricing my PYO work. I have problems judging whether the price I want is too low or too high. Hopefully as I paint more and sell more I’ll get a better feeling for it.
Thanks frozen! Nice of you to say!
Well I went ahead and put him on eBay. I am working on a mural this weekend and I don’t think I’ll be on the forums much. If he ends up not selling though and anyone may want to buy or trade just send me a message! Thank you bunches!
Here’s his link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200085262513Hehe, yes, time payments I am very familiar with.
Yeah I figured I’d be *really* lucky to find someone who’d wanna trade me unpainted PYO’s (dare to dream, right?).
Thanks guys! He is kinda different lookin’ with his blue markings. I really wanted to paint a black griffin but I was trying things to make him look not so plain. The other idea I had was a black griffin that just had a lot of blue or purple on his wings, but I was thinking windstone already had a factory finish one somewhat like that.
Any interest before eBay?
UPDATE: now on eBay

Thank you very much for looking, I really appreciate it. 😉
Yes, congrats! I was high bidder for a very short time, lol! I knew I wouldn’t be able to afford it though. 😥
Ski your new additions are most lovely! I must admit that the I used to think that gold on the dragon was crazy ugly. But after seeing your photo I giggled a bit because I just REALLY like him!! I think it must be one of those colors that does not photograph very well and I’d need to see it in person. In your photo though the browns really show up, and it really does make a difference.
Congrats!
