September 25, 2008 at 12:10 am in reply to: Curious and have to ask – ebay negative that WE got #733683
I noticed awhile ago that Windstone Editions got a negative on ebay. The buyer who bought the Rainbow Glitter black scratcher left a negative.
It’s really got me curious. What was up with that auction? What got him so riled up?
I am thinking about bidding. ^.^ I love that silver/jade combo. But it won’t be on this one… or I may wait and skweek alot for another mould in the same color if another momma doesn’t come along.
I have a … nervous twitch about spending that many dollars on a small sculpt. 😛
I was wondering, how many Silver Jade momma curlies did Olympia do in this current run?
I second that! She’s so gorgeous!
Absolutely incredible! What a beautiful griffy girl! Congratulations!
The two spots make the poad’s butt look like a guinea pig’s face. 😛
And interesting list… is this list done up so forum members don’t end up bidding against each other?

These are both from the test paint griffins that I won. I’ve had the female a couple of months, the male longer, but I didn’t have much time for forum posting.
^.^ Color Sunburst Male, and Grey Barred Female. The male is so gorgeous in person, everyone who sees him comments, even people who aren’t windstone fans. His ebay auction pics didn’t do him justice at all.
I like her picture, she looks like she’s ready to scold him for acting like a fledgling. *snicker* And I didn’t notice the red dot on his sketch, until I scanned it a second time.
Edit – closed! Thanks to those who PM’d me!
So awesome, it too me three tries to spell ‘awesome’. I was so enamoured with poads I kept wanting to change the order the letters were in. 😛
Thanks Melody! I have looked trough all the pictures of the poads in your gallery, and am definitely showing preferences for some over others.
This one, is my fav so far…
http://www.windstoneeditions.com/galleries/displayimage.php?pid=1644&fullsize=1
The one with the lavendar eyes. I would want one with brown eyes, but I love the pattern on that one. It combines lace and tiger, and is dark enough to suit my tastes. Not too much of the pale or white colors. So now I know what to watch for on ebay. ^.^ Or in the store.
Definitely helps to make up my mind to see so many at once. The group around the pizza helped alot too, so much variety.
I was wondering, could I see some Poads? I am sort of interested in the Blue Pearl Tiger Poads up on ebay now, but as with the griffins, I can only get one and I want to make sure I get one that I really like.
If I could see more in advance, that’d help. ^.^ If there is a gallery or pictures already out there, a direct link would be most helpful. I tried looking through the gallery, but got distracted and lost.
I want one that is “Limited” in some way. So not the burnt sugar ones, but either Limited Production, a Test Paint, or Limited Edition. Or artist edition, are there any of those in existence or planning?
Thanks!

Excellent point. 🙂
I hope that they _ don’t _ slow down. Otherwise prices will go even more out of reach. I’d love to get a limited secret keeper (saving like mad, but it is a slow process) but if there are even fewer to go around, then there will be even more competition.
I would like to see most…
Limited Production or Limited Edition Griffins in the same color pattern as Female Test Paint Number 5 shown in the group photo. (and same level of detailing to the feathers, she’s so purdy, *drool*). Oh! And one should be set aside for me to buy, in case I miss them in the windstone store. 😛 Which I probably will. 🙁
Baby Griffin ‘test paints’ to match our barred wing and sunburst test paints.
Keep the Artist Editions coming! My squeek with these is to not let them stop. How about a flap cat artist edition?
Bluejay Griffins! Since blue jays are mostly grey buff and whitish colors, with blue highlights, do the cat parts in grey buff, with feather blue highlights.
Hey, I’m learning the lingo!
And I’m trying to decide whether I want to get a silver hatching empress or not… or whether I want a different color. Or a kinglet.
So I would like to see other people’s royal hatchers – especially the empress and kinglet, but the emperor too. In all their different colors, especially the more limited ones. The windstone store catalogue only shows so much, I wanna see angles and different backgrounds, because the color can actually vary between one camera and another.
Besides, who needs an excuse to show off their beauties, right?
April 1, 2008 at 11:28 pm in reply to: Repair in Progress, Faceless Male Dragon Completed 8/20 #606601Oh my. That is very impressive work! I would never have thought a windstone that badly broken could be so nicely repaired.
😀
Sorry I didn’t post here yesterday. It didn’t occur to me to check for a welcome board, I kinda got caught up reading in the brags, and sale forums, and of course the online store.
And next thing I knew four hours had gone by.
So yah, hi and hello and thanks for the warm welcome. Here’s a few tidbits about me:
I go by the name Thunderwing or Thunderwing_the_dragon just about everywhere. Except in a few minor places. I’ve actually been a lurker on these boards for awhile, but very on and off. You can thank the test painted griffins for finally getting me to sign up and join.
I’ve been a fan of windstones since I first saw them in a store when I was 10. That was what, 20 years ago? and I have been obsessed ever since. I used to go into that store and just stand and gaze at them. They were far beyond my ability to purchase at the time, and though I asked all the time, I never did get any as a gift. Eventually the store owners got used to me, though at first they did look at me kinda funny.
Eventually that store went out of business, when I was in high school. I saved and saved and managed to buy a small black bird winged flap cat for $32 after taxes. He came in a baby unicorn box, because they didn’t have his original one. Then I went home, and scrounged for change and did extra chores, and saved like mad (Imagine a teenage sugar a holic going without a single piece of candy for weeks) and saved up enough to buy the male unicorn. I was on $5 a week allowance, so had to come up with the rest by other means. He was 30% off and that was the only way I managed to buy him. He became my pride and joy, and shared a shelf in my small cabinet with only the flap cat and my other favorite porcelain cat. Before the sale he was $90, I don’t remember what the total came to.
Once I got to university, I added a baby unicorn and a small siamese bat winged cat. Then I found a lonely single baby pegasus (first edition, no necklace) on sale for a whopping $22!
Once I graduated and moved out, I added a few more pieces. A rising spectral, a black and a tan male griffin, a mother unicorn, a jade sun dragon, an emerald lap, and was gifted with a beautiful peacock lap. This was over the course of 8 years.
Then I discovered the test paints, and I am totally in love. I *love* the detail in the one of a kinds and tests. Alas, I’m in the same sort of boat, with not enough funds. 😛 But I decided to splurge and won the auction for the Color Sunburst male, and he is my pride and joy. Everyone agrees who sees him, he’s a gorgeous one. I have been ebaying some other collectibles to pay for him, but he was worth it.
Aside from Windstone, I also collect my little ponies. I work full time in a greenhouse, and own a hamstery as well. No kids, all my babies have fur. Married, a home owner (in other words, up to my ears in mortgage), and… I think that’s all.
