Chessapeaka, its annoying isn’t it. On IM I often find myself even spelling things backwards. Not just small words, big ones too. Spelled perfectly backwards, I guess when I write for long amouts of time I have bouts of dislexia 😕

I edit as I go now, which does make things much easier even though it is fun to just plow through. But the books I wrote back in high school I just wrote everything without editing. I can barely look at them with out cringing 😳 I haven’t posted anything I’ve writen online because I’m very protective about my work. What was the book you published GB? I might have read it.

I was just so taken aback by people that could paint like that. My talents are restricted to only sketch paper. I am the messiest painter on the face of the planet. I swear I get more paint on myself than what I’m trying to paint.

Sorry if this seems like pointless post in this catagory but I was looking through the paint your own gallery and I have to say I am toroughly impressed. I can bearly paint with paint by numbers thing and I was just blown away. I looked at over a hundred of those things and I was amazed. I just felt like I should say something about it. I mean I can draw pretty well but painting has never been my thing so I just wanted to say to all of you who paint those things how incredibly talented you are. I’m sorry, I’m still geekin out about it. 😯

    Completely blew my mind!

OH thank goodness! I don’t know any other writers so this is a big relief. A lot of what you said in the second paragraph, I fall under the same catagory. Sorry if my spelling is off I haven’t slept in about 4 days. Its nice that you can count on your family to help you with your book. I know my mom would but she is always so busy I don’t really get to ask her, plus her eyes don’t do to well when she has to read for more than half an hour. As for getting my brother to read anything that isn’t in a medschool book I’m pretty much on my own. So I find myself with typos, missing words and things. Do you find yourself after a long period of writing mispelling really easy words but getting all the difficult ones right on the first try? I think after a while I just get a gigantic brain fart and I cramp up all together. I sometimes have to stop writing. Sorry, I’m talking your leg off 😳

Thank you, I write a variety of things. Ranging from scifi/fantasy to just normal fiction. I have a lot of plots up the air right now but you know every once in a while when a storyline comes a long that you know is going to be good…I’m working on one of those. I read one of your posts about 15 pages that you wrote, I wanted to read them but either my internet is kicking out on me or the link didn’t work. I would have commented but since I couldn’t read it I didn’t.

ooOOoo, I feel special 😀 I was looking in the shop the other day and I liked that intense violet, emerald looking Emperior. I liked that one and half of everything in the shop…more than half.

Thanks, I didn’t know that the brown emperior was rare. I think he had it for a long time before he passed it on to me. I hope to collect more but being as I am a poor college student who can barely afford the dollar menu at MacDonalds, it might take a while. But I’ll get there. I’ll take a pic of the one I have and post it sometime this week.

I figure a lot of you are writers, well, from what I’ve read of the posts. I don’t know if its just me but I absolutely hate editing. Well, I guess I can honestly say I hate editing this one book I have. I started writing it four years ago. Being in and out of college, its hard to find time to just devote to it. But since I started writing it my vocabulary has grown, and my tastes have changed. So I finished the book, which ended up being 600 pages long and went through the entire thing tree times for editing. It still has a while to go before its where I want it.

But, I guess I rambled. This is my question. Do you ever find yourself going over the stuff that you’ve writen and have gotten so used to it that you feel it is to predictable? Even though I know it probably isn’t, I’m very paranoid about it. 😯

in reply to: Terry Brooks #584338

The Shannara series is good but the longer Brooks drags it out the more he tortures his characters. Which I can’t really say anything because I do the same thing to the characters in my books. But I like the series, I went through a rollercoastet of emotions with the latest book he released. I get really into the books I read. I laugh, I cry, and all that jazz.

I’m new here at Windstone Editions so I just wanted to say hi before dived in. I came to know about Windstone Editions this past Christmas when my soon to be father in law gave me a brown emperior since we both shared a passion for dragons. It was so gorgeous that I had to see if there was a website or a store where I could continue to collect them. I’ve been using the one I have as a bookend in…well I call it my labrynth. But its my library. I have a some what small passion for books…okay, huge understatement. He just looks so good lording over the labrynth that I had to see if there were more. So hi everyone!

Considering my terrible grammar I typed that rather well. Yay me! 😀
