Wow! Where to begin!
First off, your mom has a lot of issues she has yet to deal with. Unfortunately, she is trying to make them your issues. As hard as it is, you need to be the adult in this (since your mom is not) and tell her where the line is. It sounds like she just crossed it. I would recommend not telling her any details she is asking for. It is not her business and it sounds like she will just use it against you later. Don’t let her take away your power and authority.
As a side note, when it comes to parents, I understand you can’t just turn-off the caring switch. Even if they have been bad to you. It’s just not that easy. My grandmother had treated my mom badly for most of her life. Mainly verbal abuse and ignored her. My mom on the other hand turned out to be the best mom in the world. She basically turned all the negatives around and learned what not to do from her own mother. She hasn’t come out of it scott-free unfortunately. She still has here moments and she still carries it with her, but it didn’t stop her from changing things for us kids.
I have no doubt that you will be a wonderful mom. If that means putting your mother in her place where she will never hurt you or your child (or children) in the future, then it is your choice to do so. Look at it this way, would you let your mom treat your kids the way she treated you? Now is your time to break free of that if you want to. There will be a heafty emotional price to pay and you will need an iron will, but the alternatives maybe worse. Think about it. My $2 worth.

i got a real dud dragon off of ebay recently where the piece was described as being well cared for, living its life in a cabinet… but it had substantial chips with mismatched paint cover ups, all the gold details flaking off as they were painted back on… i had gold paint peels all stuck to my hands! plus i got charged double for shipping! i am not sure what to do, i have to email the seller…. but they sold off their collection and i wonder if some of y’all have some coming to you….if you have any nasty surprises in store like me… 😕Who was the seller if you don’t mind my asking?

Since this is such a sensitive issue, and ultimately Windstone has the right to handle this anyway they want, I’m not trying to open another can of worms here, but there are a few things that need to be considered (they probably already have, but probably have not been discussed in the open forum).
This issue is not going to die here. If it wasn’t Purplecat it would have been someone else. It will only be another matter of time before some else does it with or without Windstone knowing about it.
Repairs and repaints (whether restoring factory paint or creating new colors) will always have a market. I would like to suggest, only for consideration, that Windstone authorize a few artists who want to do this. They don’t have to be official employees, but just affiliates. A marking system on the felt could be established so that they could be easily tracked and identified. Any non production colors would have to be authorized by Windstone before being done and there could be a photo archive for the company. Will this stop all repaints, and unauthorized duplication, etc? No. But it would give an outlet for services that are requested/needed and Windstone could have a say in directing what avenue they take.
This idea may not work at all, but the alternative is to keep coming back to this issue again and again. My 2 cents worth.

Yes, all is fair, but I still like to see things work out when they can. I hope you get him close to what the opening bid is. When I asked them about paypal and all I also wanted to know what they would take for a BIN. They replied with “at least $300” which is the about the average market price for this piece right now. Maybe you’ll get a sweet deal. Good luck!
