I figured as much. I’ll be watching with great interest to see if anyone has some tips for cleaning this off.
I’ve heard stories of people washing their pieces, but I’m not so sure I’m comfortable doing that. I’ve also heard, I think, that some of the rubies’ paint tended to come off easily if rubbed. I wonder if some very mild soap and water on a Q-tip would work for this.
My ruby has that as well. I just figured it was because they (previous owner)obviously didn’t take care of him and since I didn’t want to use anything too abrasive to get the stuff off I’ve just left him that way. Canned air and q-tips or paintbrush didn’t budge the stuff and I don’t want to try anything harsher for fear of stripping his paint. It reminds me of a thin coat of motor oil sludge. It’s not exactly sticky, but dust has stuck to it. About the same color, too.
There was someone here advertising a rainbow emp very recently. Has he sold already?
I’ll keep my eyes open too. I’ve still got emails trickling in from a mass emailing I did looking for rainbows and rubies.
Yikes! That’s quite a screwup!
Cross off momma ruby, please. Someone very sweet helped me find one. 😀
As I dig through old posts, my list keeps getting longer and longer. 😆
I guess I’m also looking for something in Jade. Scratcher? I’d pay a pretty penny for an OW in Jade, but I don’t think any of those have been found?
I was a size 8 back when I was in the Army. Every time a physical came around they were telling me I was fat and needed to lose weight. I was tape-tested for my bodfat percentage constantly. I’m 5’11”, weighed 170, and had a flat stomach but have always been curvy and large chested. How in the world that translates to “fat” I’ll never know. Archaic.
If any of that would fit me now I’d help you out. Sorry.
I can see them. That emp is HOT. Congrats on your new pieces! The fairy is really cute, too.

Any way we can sweet talk you into sharing some video of that? 😉

I think so, sadly. Those sure were pretty though. I wish I’d gotten into Windstones a year earlier so I’d have had a shot at some of those special ones that were sold.
Found the emerald, now I just have to cross my fingers that he gets here in one piece.
Still looking for the other two. 😀
I’ve gotten the rainbows I was looking for. 😀 Please cross those off.
My updated wishlist:
Peacock OW, prefer factory mint with original packaging plus tag, will pay up to $350.
Prototype Silver OW, not sure how high exactly I’d be willing to go but I think somewhere in the neighborhood of $1000-1500 seems a fair place to start.
Ruby Mother dragon, prefer factory mint with original packaging plus tag, will pay up to $125.
I’m not mad, I just think it’s sad that people have to stoop to be insulting rather than being happy for one another. I’ve missed out on a lot of pieces I wanted because I couldn’t afford them, but I never whined about it. I sure wouldn’t expect people to step back and not bid on something just so I could have it myself, either.
I say yay for Windstone if the values on their retired pieces go up. The sellers and the people who can afford them both win. If the brown OW really isn’t worth what I’m willing to pay and others jump in to expect that and don’t get it, the price will go back down. Everyone’s happy.

Hang on, lemme kiss your feet. 😆
I’ve met Ward burton a couple times and have some things signed by him, I love the guy. I met a lot of the race wagon drivers while I was out on the road driving truck, it was pretty cool to see them all grouped together rolling down the highway.
These are pretty neat. I have fun going through the forums and clicking on peoples’ eggs to help them grow. 😀
