Thanks for noticing, GB! I’m channeling Eeyore here…
Hi all, I’m kinda back! Things have been crazy at home and work, but I hope to be able to get on here more now. My health has been sort of shaky too; I am always exhausted when I get home from work due to an overactive thyroid. The drugs are starting to help a bit now (thank God).
I haven’t even been able to lurk at work since I now have to supervise a college kid in my office (gotta set a good example *snort*).
I hope all is well here, and I hope to chat soon! π
Blessings,
Goldragon2!
ROFL! MINE! MINE! I just loved those seagulls!
π πGO STEELERS!!!!
π
Oh wait…that was last year. I had all of the in-laws over for that one; they are HUGE fans , and we have the only big screen in the family. π―Who is playing this year? Two animal teams right?
Oh yeah, da Bears and da Colts. Go Peyton! I love his goofy commercials. I hope they have good commercials this year!**rambling on and on**
Sorry, too much caffeine.
Welcome back Nirvana! Glad you are feeling better; look out the sniping queen is baaaaack! π π π

Can I have one too, please? Something with black unicorns (grand would be awesome), or black pegasi? Please, please?
Maybe soon I wll get a photobucket going so I can post collection pics too. I just took some a few days ago. Woot!
Thanks!
**whimpers** I missed them too! I spent the day traveling to Ohio with my boss, and I wasn’t able to get on until now!
Stupid road trips!!! π₯
If anyone got an extra one that they would sell me, please let me know. Thanks!
Sorry for you aggravation Emerald!
I too have had my auctions copied word for word several times. When I would notice them, I would send the seller a pleasant email about how I was flattered that they found my words good enough to copy, but they really shouldn’t copy word for word.
Basically, I just do it to let them know that I noticed their blatant copying, but I really can’t do much since my words arent copyrighted. The fact that they used your picture too, would warrant more than just a pleasant email. That is dowright unacceptable!!! GRRRRRRR! πΏ
I hope they have their listing removed and get disciplined by EBay for this crime!
Good luck, Emerald!
I sent you two emails; sorry, I forgot to add my forum name. DUH! π
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! π π π
Hey Chessie, if I moved to California or Oregon, do you think your mom could homeschool me? [Insert puppy dog eyed smiley batting eyelashes here] I would LOVE to learn sculpting and painting from the best! π
Wow! I am so impressed that this discussion has stayed so civil with such a hot topic! π― I agree that people who move to a different country should make every effort to conform and learn the language, but I also feel that those who do not know English should be taught gently and without hostility towards who they are.
If I ever moved to Germany or Italy or Iceland, I would fully expect to have to learn German, Italian, or Icelandic. I would not expect them to learn English just so they could talk to me, and I would appreciate (but not EXPECT) a little patience and guidance as I make the transition.
My grandparents came from Cuba over 50 years ago, and my grandmother never made any attempt to learn English. She still criticizes me for not teaching my kids more Spanish (which is stupid on my part; it would be beneficial to them!), but it is infuriating that she blames ME for not being able to communicate with her great-grandchildren, when she has had over 50 years to make an effort to learn, dangit! π‘
All of my family members are now American citizens, but the older folks were able to take their tests and hear their ceremonies in Spanish because Miami has become such a Hispanic majority. I appreciate the kindness to them, but they weren’t doing them any favors. In my grandfather’s defense, he made a tremendous effort to learn English, but he had a very heavy accent that he never lost.
Anyway, I am so glad that you have all been so kind about sharing your opinions, this topic has been a great read for me! It is so wonderful to find a place where you can have an intelligent conversation/debate, and also have fun! Thanks, Chessie for starting it, and thanks everyone who has contributed. Please keep up the great conversations! π
Blessings,
Goldragon2!
I am Hispanic (Cuban), but no one knows unless I tell them or go off on a Ricky Ricardo rant (like I did when the guys broke my window!) π―
I think I am the only Hispanic in my town, and possibly the county. There are a handful of African-Americans here, but this hilbilly town isn’t the most welcoming to those who don’t have a whole lot of red on their necks.
It has taken them a long time to get used to me, and I still get a few stupid comments (derogatory to Hispanics or “spics” as we have been called) even after being here 20 years.
I choose to live here, so I just learn to live with it, but it hurts sometimes when people are ignorant. π I never received any grants or special treatment, and I have worked darn hard to earn the respect of my neighbors and co-workers.
Sorry for babbling, no complaints here. I LOVE my life, my family, my job, and ESPECIALLY, my God. I really dislike racism though, and I wish it didn’t exist. God created us all! Black, white, Asian, Hispanic, etc., we are all His children whether we acknowledge it or not. π
I hope none of you ever have to deal with intolerance and hatred; it is so damaging, both to the hater and hated!
All I can say is THANK GOD FOR CREDIT CARDS!!! π
My in-laws pitched in to get my son a PSP to replace the one he lost, so I had more to spend on Windstones!! WOOHOO! Don’t tell them that though… 8)
Thanks so much, I am soooo excited! **bounce**bounce**bounce**

Way to go Golddragon2!!
Thanks! π Still shaking…
Quote:’69 is a rooster, ’51 is a hare. You’re right.
Thanks, GB! My memory did serve me well that time.
We are total opposites in pretty much everything, from food tastes, to money issues (ouch!), to mental stability (guess who the nut is? π ) π
One of the things (the most important) we DO agree on is our faith. We attend church as a family regularly, and it has really cemented out marriage; (not bragging here, just stating a fact) 15 years and counting!
Oh yeah, and guess who the outgoing one with foot-in-mouth disease is too? π³ He actually THINKS before he speaks! LOL!
December 17th, Sagi, the Archer.
I love horses, but I can’t hit the broad side of a barn with an arrow or anything smaller than a truck (I have proof)! π―
My hubby and I are opposites on the chinese calendar. He is maybe a hare and I think I am a rooster? Or vice versa? 1969 and 1951 if anyone has the info handy.
What a nice idea! Thanks! π
Thanks GB! π I just found the other topic and bumped it up. Maybe someone will be interested. Have a good one!
Blessings,
Goldragon2!
