OMGAWD I am SOO happy you got outta that hell hole it’s not even funny!!!
And Woohoo! On the cosplay chess – post pictures!! π
It’s a highway that happens to go through the city I live in. It’s a pretty major thoroughfare, that I kinda need to take to get to work. Well, don’t *need* to, per-say, but that’s the fastest way by far.
Let’s see… I’m grateful for coffee to get me through my 4am shift.
I’m grateful that I *have* a 4am shift, as some people have none (and hey, I’m grateful for NEVER having a traffic jam on the Yellowhead on my way to work, bwahaha).
I’m grateful for my family and friends who’ve been very supportive of me through things like not understanding taxes, wedding planning, and work stuff.
I’m grateful for not being sick for the first time since January.
I’m REALLY grateful for my cats who greet me at the door whenever I come home, and for Mojo who insists on being on my lap (my feelings on the matter aside).
I’m grateful my diabetes is under control (last doctor I went to said he wished his other patients were as awesome as me).
I’m grateful I have a roof over my head and food on my plate.
I’m grateful to have a talented mum who’s helping me so much with my wedding, she may as well be doing all the work herself (she just took over my flowers too… haha apparently I suck at folding paper).
And I’m grateful for all of you, because you’ve all been a great sounding board for my complaints, a cheer for my accomplishments and good times, and just all around good company. πWOW my mood just got SO MUCH BETTER! Best. Idea. Ever.
My work got some applicants for the new QC job in the afternoon! W00T Me and my boss (mostly my boss) have been going nuts trying to do all of our crap, PLUS what this other person would be doing (which is just piling up, mostly, eek!)! OMG Maybe if we hire one of them, I can stop dreaming about work at night! HECK YEAH!
I’m sorry to hear about Hilel’s eye. Hopefully the surgery goes well and she heals up well.
And I hope Koda gets well soon, or that you at least find out why he’s sick.
And bad things do seem to come all at the same time, don’t they. *hugs*
TACKLE HUG!!!!!!!!!!!! *jumps on the group hug pile* π π
March 7, 2011 at 11:11 pm in reply to: Hello & Photos of Progress on My First PYO (unfinished) #839728I like her, it seems like she’s a kind of metallic rock, that’s wearing away at places to reveal the colorful core underneath. A very antiqued and textured piece, it’s very pretty so far!
No advice though. Sorry I’m just as bad as everyone else!! π
Fantastic news!!!
That’s fantastic! Congrats!! π
Awe skeeter I’m glad that no one is seriously injured, and that your house is repairable.
And DreamingTree, that must have been awful. π I’ve seen that before too (though not into a house, it was a collision on a road and I was nearby), and it’s just… STUCK. And that was YEARS ago! And we just won’t mention the after-effects of a motorcycle collision I saw while on vacation in the eastern part of the country.
I wish people would just realize that speeding does in fact kill people! And that those people could be them, or someone they know. “It’ll never happen to me” is far too common.
Oooh your stuffs is gorgeous. π
WELCOME!!! π
Hope it works for you and let us know how it goes!!! π

The main problem, now, is that the earth is doing something it hasn’t had to do before– support the largest population of human beings ever– and so even though the world’ll keep on spinnin’, it might mean some hard times for us humans.
This.
I’m still gonna complain about the weather though. Juuuuust saying. π

I’M A NAIT GRAD!!!! *cries* I feel like he thinks my standards are really low (though he probably just doesn’t know that I’m a NAIT grad).
I’m feeling very insulted. π Hopefully he doesn’t catch on that I’m probably going to be angry and ignoring him all week. And if he does, hopefully he doesn’t ask why. π
awww *hugs*
I worked at Gamestop as a grad student. My boss and co workers asked me why all the time why. I need the money duh people. In my field it’s hard to make money. Epically now Egypt is is in total chaos. Maybe I should switch to Roman or Greek. But my love has and always will be Ancient Egypt.
Looks like I will not be going back to Egypt for a very long time and that makes me sadder than words can express.
I think it’s even worse that technically, this job I have is IN my field. So it does make sense for me to be there, I am using the skills I learned in classes. And Awww about not being able to do what you love because of the political situation. That’s got to be tough. π
