OK I guess there were 18 and they sold for $405 to $1,525.

If there are 18 of these why would anyone pay that much for him? I mean the SK’s are rarer and THEY don’t fetch this much… 😯

in reply to: Scratches & Paint Loss During Shipping? #640940

Hey I was wondering if you guys had your Windstones getting small scratches, or paint loss during shipping. I’ve been ordering some white pieces that are supposed to be in mint condition, and when I get them they will have 3 or 4 small scratches on them. The seller packages them really well, and I’ve dealt with her before, so I don’t think she was “misrepresenting” their condition, but maybe they got shifted during transit? I don’t know if I should bring it up with her because last time I did that she refunded me some money back. She was REALLY good about it, and I feel kinda rotton to mention it if it is just a fact of shipping white Windstones. So any white collectors experience this also?

Am I just being too “anal” or are the scratches easier to notice because they are on white pieces? Like when I inspected at my old brown male that I got AGES ago closely I notice a scratch or two but they blend into the antiquing, and color much better, than on white. Should I be just greatful they get to me in one piece and touch them up, instead of whining about it? 🙄

Awesome Scorpio…Yeh, after winning auctions, I always have that “oh crap hope they get here safely” moment.

Hey guys! I just snatched a peacock hatching emperess from ebay express for $69. It still has its tag, and I think box, AND it’s supposed to be in ‘new’ condition! The only thing is it has some green paint spots on the padding underside, but who cares! It’s one of those big EBAY store places so hope they package carefully, though I wrote them a long letter about how fragile these things are, but who knows if they read it? I’m pretty happy though! I guess insomnia finally paid off….WWOOOOOOOO!!!:D

Drogo got the gloss coating from Windstone directly for touch up purposes, so they have the same kind as are used on production Windstones.

There are many other kinds of gloss clear coat. Do you want a spray on or a brush on kind?

Thanks again Nam… it was so sweet of you guys to send me the paint 😛

in reply to: Touching Up Windstones Question #640292

What does the clear gloss coating do? Does it seal the touch up job…I’m not noticing a change in sheen/ texture for some reason… 😕

HAHAHA…Read your post on the white wizard woes… No… Spent too much on white wizards already… GANDALF and SARUMAN! 😀

Gee thanks Frozen… I guess you’d be the expert at cleaning up whites 😀 I’m building my own brood of whites also…my fledgling is fluttering his way to me as we speak…poor thing…kinda cold, for his first journey…

Oh, also since I got your attention, are the touch-ups more noticable on whites than the darker colored ones? Thanks again…

in reply to: Touching Up Windstones Question #640286

OK…this might be a really retarded question, but someone once told me the only “retarded” questions are the ones you didn’t ask…so…..

I’m touching up my white dragons that I got off ebay months ago. I might finally have time during holidays. I got the white touch up paint and the clear gloss coting from Windstone (thanks again guys), and I just want to make sure: Do you just apply the white paint first, wait for it to dry, then put the clear gloss on, and let dry?

It is just a small scratch that I need to touch up from my white mother, and my white lap has a dime-sized patch of missing gloss. Thanks in advance guys, and sorry if this topic’s been discussed here before.

If you search both title and description on ebay, it comes up because the publisher is also named Windstone.

Yup! On the same note, I just read the Bell Jar (my wife made me) and I was plesantly surprised that it was funny at least for the first half of the book 😀

Yeh…sorry about the wizard…sucks! I’m going through the same thing on Ebay rt now…except it’s with Bilbo 😕 Bought a LOTR Bilbo bust in “mint” condition, but had several non-mint issues…The seller won’t contact me back after emailing him 5 times…I’m filing a claim this Saturday, if he doesn’t get back to me by then…Hope your situation turns out better…looks like it will… 🙂
