So we get a package of comic books last night in the post, and I find out my mom bought Guy Davis’s The Marquis. I hadn’t heard of it before, but as soon as I opened it I was confronted with a plague doctor. Me: “Oh, this looks cool!”–I open the book–“HOLY CRAP IT’S A PLAGUE DOCTOR AAAAAH OH MY GOSH THIS IS AMAZING, LOOK IT’S A PLAGUE DOCTOR!!”
… Yes. So anyways, I’ve finished reading it, and thought it was amazing and beautifully disturbing, and now I want to exercise my excess zeal in a conversation about Guy Davis and whatever else he’s written/drawn, because to be honest I had no idea there was such a wonderful thing in existence as him.

Ah, beautiful. Thank you for posting this, Nam. Now I’m hungry. The only thing better than Lebanese food, in my opinion, is Indian. But it’s a close call.

There’s a guy my dad and I shoot with occasionally that makes the most beautiful knives imaginable. I’m not sure if he has a website or not, I’ll have to ask.
I’ve read both Eragon and Eldest, but haven’t seen the movie… I haven’t heard the best things about it, but hey, it has dragons! Still kinda want to see it.

Mandolin is what I’d like to get better at, but I’d like to learn it more by ear than by sheet music. This is just because after taking seven years of piano lessons I’m fed up with reading–I want to play, not decipher. But anyhow! Mandolin is a lot of fun, and I bet you’ll love it.
And it’s awesome that your dad makes guitars, Whippet! The ukulele looks gorgeous.
