Those are definitely good points! Now I’m feeling a little bad for going ahead and using the forum. 😳 Okay, no worries, if I don’t get any offers here (and I completely understand if people would rather not, for all the reasons you mentioned), I’ll list on eBay. πŸ™‚

Sure, I’m giving it a try here first. Thanks! πŸ™‚

in reply to: Question about selling Windstones #739244

    Hi all,

I’m planning on putting more Windstones up for sale in the flea market, but I’d first be grateful for some advice about the best way to auction them off. I’d ideally like to stick with using the forum: I want to avoid additional eBay fees, and I know there’s a serious group of Windstone fans located here. πŸ™‚

Having done this once already now, though, I realize I can’t run an auction here like one on eBay. I have to relay current bids to the different bidders, which makes sniping at the very end a trickier issue. I’d be interested to learn, then, whether anyone here have a tried-and-true method for auctioning Windstones on the forum? If not, I can definitely resort to eBay, but I thought it’d be a good idea to chat with the experts here first! πŸ™‚

    Hi everyone,

So the selling of the griffin and dragon went well (though I was on pins and needles the entire time they were being shipped)! I’ve decided to offer up two more of my collection. Again, I feel badly about selling them, and I want to apologize to Jennifer for not giving her beautiful pieces a forever home. My interests have changed in the past months, however, so I do think it’s for the best that I let them go to others who love Windstones.

I’ll be taking offers on both until November 14, 7pm PST. Just to confirm, prices are in US dollars and do not include shipping or insurance (which I would highly recommend!). Payment can be either by money order or Paypal.

    Black Fire Kirin

Comes with COA and his original box. (There unfortunately isn’t any identifying label on it, but it contains the right kirin-fitted moldings and he’s the only kirin I have!)

As noted on the COA, he didn’t come mint from the factory. He’s really very handsome, and I actually never noticed anything until closely inspecting him for this auction. The principal minor faults I can see are a paint run on one of his scales and some tiny white flecks on the bottom of one of his front hooves.

I’d like to get at least what I paid for him ($575). SOLD

    Sunrise Griffin Chick

Comes mint with COA, but unfortunately not with original box. I do have a sitting griffin chick box that I will put him in, however. I’d like to get at least $400 for him. SOLD

As with the last auction, PM if you’re interested. Also, I’d be happy to provide more photos of either!

    —-

    Gold Sunburst Female Griffin:

Comes with original box and COA. Went straight from box to glass display case. I’d like to get at least what I paid for her ($560.00).

EDIT: Because the absolute last thing I want to do is misrepresent an item, I decided to look over the griffin again extra carefully, and I noticed that she has a hairline rub on one of her talons and on the front of her beak. These are extremely tiny, but I know she can’t be described as mint, so I’ll lower her minimum bid price to $530. SOLD

    Auburn Forest Old Warrior:

Comes with original box, COA and a beautiful drawing by Jennifer Miller. Went straight from box to glass display case. I’d like to get at least what I paid for him ($1592.87) SOLD

(Sorry, the drawing looks a little funny because it’s still in its original plastic sleeve and it caught my reflection when I took the picture!)

You dont need both of those… *Here chickychickychicky*

πŸ˜† They’re both in a display case, so they can’t escape! I adore both of them.

It was a bit tough, actually, taking these pictures. It’s hard to capture their beautifully subtle colours, especially the greens.

And ddvm, my offer to you still stands as well. Your mom and chick are always welcome to come visit my pair. πŸ˜€ The male is lonely without the Moon Griffin, but I think a female Labradorite Griffin may be an acceptable substitute. πŸ˜‰

That’s so sad. What an unfortunate thing to happen.

So cute! They look wonderful together. πŸ˜€ The male chick hasn’t arrived yet, but I’ll post pics as soon as he does.
