Ohh no no no, I would never paint over any of them if they were in good shape. Mine’s lightly damaged, but I still wouldn’t REALLY want to paint him (I can feel wistful). Makes me want to find a more damaged one though. 😉

I admit I hadn’t been a fan of the koi look, but I must say this one is beautiful and looks very natural too. It seems to me the shape of the oriental, long and slender, and the look of his scales lends itself beautifully to this look.

I’m shocked and dissappointed myself I can’t get a hold of chipped and/or broken ones on ebay for a decent price. Some of them, the rubies even, are going for just as much broken as a brand new retailed piece or more…how crazy is that! You’re so lucky to have found this one to repaint.

Don’t despair Water, I’m sure you’ll get one eventually! Everything pops up on ebay if you’re patient enough. There was a young oriental that sold for $51.00 a while ago, it’s bound to happen again…

Yeah that one was not cheap. Even broken in three places I paid 70 bucks for it. But it was guilt free!
