Awww…All those poor sculpts just sitting there waiting for judgment day to come. 😥
I’d be happy to have one of them painted and left just the way they are! Sort of a special forum collector thing. 😳 *ALWAYS day dreamin’ *
All those beautiful orientals! *whimpers*August 18, 2009 at 4:48 am #779704Melody wrote:I just put up a blog about our rejects. You can see the problem here: http://www.windstoneeditions.com/drupal/node/80
Thank you for posting about the problem. Hope it gets solved soon. It’s sad to see so many rejects.
August 18, 2009 at 3:01 pm #779705It is sad to see so many rejects. 😥 Maybe some of them wouldn’t be so bad painted? The goof-ups always sell on eBay, as do the “slightly damaged” and repaired sculpts, like the last sunset lap and the pizza poad that’s up now. It’s something to think about, anyway. 🙂
August 18, 2009 at 3:50 pm #779706Yup I agree…I would love to get a chance to own one of the goof ups…and there are so many in that picture on the blog, I think they should be painted and either put on ebay or used as raffle pieces… 🙂

August 18, 2009 at 4:24 pm #779707Me too–I’m interested to see how much the big foot Poad goes for! Imagine–a OOAK in a weird way! Brightly painted big foot Poads 😆 ! Could make some of those prototypes and for test paints–possbilities are endless. Would be happy the day when you solve this casting nightmare but when life gives you lemons–make lemonade! 😀
August 18, 2009 at 5:00 pm #779708It’s sad to see all of those rejected castings, but honestly, I love just 5 minutes to go through those carts and nab as many of them as I could. I’d love the chance to repair some of them and then paint them for myself. Oh, I can dream…
August 18, 2009 at 7:11 pm #779709I understand why they don’t make them available. For one thing, it reduces the value of some of the less expensive sculpts because people can just get a “reject.” For another, it reduces the overall quality of the sculpts that get into collectors’ hands. A company known for their fabulous pieces suddenly has a bunch of only ok pieces out there. Finally, it seems to me that Windstone has the finest customer service I have ever heard of. Ever. If a bunch of the rejects are allowed to be sent out, there might be more problems. Sculpts with flaws are likely more fragile due to bubbles throughout the casting, so may break or chip more readily. If the good people at Windstone had to spend a bunch of time taking care of such issues, there would be less time for more quality service (or more sculpts or colors, for that matter).
While it’s a great training tool in-house, it’s a matter of pride and practical considerations that they’re not released to the public.
August 18, 2009 at 7:19 pm #779710Actually, I think all of us understand why 99% of those pieces won’t ever leave the factory. Melody herself has explained Windstone’s standards and reasoning previously. I think you just landed smack in the middle of a “wishes and dreams” session. 😉
August 18, 2009 at 8:12 pm #779711“Wishes and dreams” is right! Wish I could come over with a shopping cart and take a few of those Oriental Dragons! 🙂
August 18, 2009 at 8:55 pm #779712Yeah, I was only dreaming and joking. I already knew why they did’nt release rejected items.
August 19, 2009 at 1:55 am #779713Yes, we do enjoy dreaming, don’t we? 😀

Thanks for the heads up on it,Ms.Jennifer. 😉I didn’t mean to terrify you! I just know that some people have had problems after storing them in heat/humidity for a while. One person had problems with their rainbow male in a climate controlled unit too, but I think that is the exception.
I know when it gets hot and humid here, my pieces get ‘tacky’ and ‘sweat’ a little from condensation. Here is a thread about it: http://www.windstoneeditions.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8837
Thanks Jennifer.I just love my babies and am new at this.Never too much information 😀Every act matters. No matter how small💞

Would half of us collect if we weren’t Dreamers deep down? 😉
