My knee jerk reaction is to vote Windstone. But I will have to second what Bosky said as she said it well.
Vapordragon– how cute is that little (well, in person he aint so little) white kinglet peeking his nose over the side of the curio?! Awe!

Yeh, right now they are in the bookcase I store my first editions. It’s kinda dark in there, so I can hardly see them…especially my BG OW…I just see his blue eyballs hovering…kinda creepy:)
September 19, 2007 at 10:02 pm #618855If the Windstones are limited, don’t come on ebay often or are limited runs by the factory, go for the Windstones.
If they are regular production go for the curio.
My 2 cents worth. Let us know what you decide.
September 19, 2007 at 10:52 pm #618856I would vote for the curio, since a deal those don’t happen often. But if the Dragons you have your eyes on are retired then go for those.
Ok since I had not read the whole post, I just notice that I said pretty much the same thing as SilverArrow 😆September 19, 2007 at 11:53 pm #618857DROGO wrote:DAMN VD! I love that BG emperor! (drools more!) 😀
Seconded! I wish mine had a nice home like yours does… *sigh* Maybe when I get my own place 😆
September 20, 2007 at 1:20 am #618858I was going to say Windstone too but that is because you never see some Windstones for sale.If it’s CL then that would mean only one too. I would have to REAlY love it to get it off CL. I found one to sort of match the 2 I already have. i have their website saved at home if you are interested. I know they can put it on credit with no interest for some time. I got turned down when I tried to get my 3rd. It was a VERY low credit score time for me.
Let me know if you want the website I foundSeptember 20, 2007 at 1:49 am #618859Blackdesertwind wrote:I would vote for the curio, since a deal those don’t happen often. But if the Dragons you have your eyes on are retired then go for those.

September 20, 2007 at 4:57 am #618860Curio is a good idea. Vapordragon, I sure like yours.
September 20, 2007 at 8:34 am #618861Pffft… Windstones. 😆 They can sleep on the bed.
September 20, 2007 at 11:44 am #618862Speaking of curios, when I saw vapordragons, it reminded me when we were sofa shopping a few years back. We were in a furniture store, looking at this beautiful and huge curio (it might not be called that, actually, but it’s the only word I can think of), with rounded side doors and the regular strait glass doors in the middle.
As shoppers are wont to do, we looked it up and down (nevermind that we were looking for a sofa, not a curio), and of course, opened one of the nifty side doors. What we didn’t know was that one of the glass shelves inside (we think) hadn’t been installed properly and was holding only because the door was closed. So when my husband opened the door, said shelf (one of the top ones, of course) came crashing down, taking with it all the shelves below, as well as all the glasses on display in there.
You wouldn’t believe the noise! It was still early in the day, so it was basically just us, no music either. I couldn’t hear anything for a few seconds after that, and at first, I didn’t understand what was happening!
The sales lady came out of her office, crying “What did you do?” Dean answered: I just opened the door. I was on the side, but he was standing in a puddle of broken glass, holding the stem of a glass he tried to save (the top had still come off), a dazed look on his face.
What could she say? It wasn’t our fault, we just did what any customer would do. Who knows how long that accident was waiting to happen. In fact, Dean was lucky his feet didn’t get cut; it was summer, so he was wearing sandals.
It was just too bad we didn’t buy anything there, otherwise, I think we would have had quite the discount!
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

Yikes. Big crashes = something sales persons really don’t want to hear! At least she didn’t lose her cool and scream at you guys. That happened to my uncle once, he sat down in a wooden chair at a furniture store and it broke under him, and he is actually *underweight* for a man his size. So when the manager couldn’t blame his weight on the chair breaking he accused my uncle of “dropping into the chair with undue force,” and that was why the leg snapped off, and of course he was going to have to pay for it. But upon closer inspection, come to find out a screw was missing out of the chair and someone had tried to “fix” it with wood glue 🙄 So he got off the hook. He never went back to that store, anyway.
September 20, 2007 at 3:00 pm #618864I would buy the curio.

I was walking through the store heading up to the checkouts and I heard in the next isle crash…. I yelled first “sold” then I came around and said “just kidding, are you alright?” The poor lady picked up one glass and a bunch of glasses decided to jump off the shelf. 😆
One of my co-workers was setting up the picture frame isle. Just set up the last frame and the whole thing came crashing down. Just about all the frames were broken! She thought she was going to be fired for sure. It was the second day on the job too. She was still there almost 10 years later.
I find curios are very hard to find around here. You can find buffets and hutches, but curios no luck. There is someone on kijiji right now selling a small curio stuffed with dolls. I don’t like dolls but, I might just buy it.

My vote is: Go for the curio!
I don’t know what it is about book-cases, but they seem to attract dust. That’s okay on books; you can just slam them together once a year. If you try that with Windstones you’d be crying.
So on a bookshelf you need to keep your Windstones regularly dusted. Every time you pick up a statue to dust it you are taking the risk of dropping it or otherwise damaging it. If you don’t dust it the dust will eventually become chemically attached to the paint, at which point you may have to lick it off (I’m not kidding. Look up how to clean the surface of an acrylic painting. OK, I am kidding about you actually cat-washing your Windstones, but the principle is sound nontheless).
An enclosed curio cabinet is the ideal place for your Windstones. Buy two similar ones if you can get a good deal. Eventually you’ll need two.
