Edit: This event is currently cancelled, sorry folks. See this post for details.
I had a dream last night that I was at a Windstone convention.
Then I woke up and thought “Hey, that’s not a bad idea!”
I’ve organized things like this before, and I’m geographically convenient, since I live about an hour’s drive from the factory. So this is me tossing the idea out, to see if people would turn up if I hosted such a thing.
I’ll be keeping this post updated with the current state of the plans, since it looks like this is a thing that will be happening.
Where:
Corvallis, ORWhen:
The second or third weekend in July, 2016
(Arrival on Thurs., activities Fri. and Sat., departure on Sun.)Costs:
$150 per person (covering hotel, two dinners, and at least one craft activity. Not covering travel, other meals, or other activities.)Probable activities:
A tour of the Windstone factory.
A fondue party.
A PYO paint-athon.
A collection photo sharing hour.Possible additional activities:
Visiting the Albany Carousel & Museum.
Frankenstein plush making.
A day at the Oregon Country Fair.
Getting to know you activities.
A small windstone swap.
Pre-painted PYO grab bag swap.
Other suggestions welcome!March 26, 2015 at 8:53 pm #927117I’d check with Windstone first, before organizing a tour of the factory.
Life is beautiful.
March 26, 2015 at 9:16 pm #927122Sounds like a great idea in my opinion !! If I wasnt soooo far away, and if I was more inclined to travel, I would for sure be there ! (If I win the lotto, count me in !!! LOL !)
March 26, 2015 at 9:41 pm #927123This sounds super fun. I would be interested.
March 26, 2015 at 10:10 pm #927128I would love to go to something like this. But, since I live on the opposite side of the country, I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to attend. But it’s a great idea!
March 26, 2015 at 10:23 pm #927129I’d be interested if I could make it! 🙂

Excellent!
March 27, 2015 at 12:44 am #927141What a fun idea. Unfortunately – like jmoore – living on the East Coast makes it logistically unlikely. 🙁
March 27, 2015 at 2:20 am #927147This idea sounds like a lot of fun! I’m definitely interested.
March 27, 2015 at 2:29 am #927148Bipolar Bear has been kicking around this idea for awhile – you might try reaching out to him. He could likely tell you the feasibility/logistics.
Alas, this is just too close to when the new little one will arrive for me to offer to help coordinate. 🙂
March 27, 2015 at 5:56 am #927155I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who has dreams like this! LOL!

Well yes, I’d talk to them before making any firm plans, but I’ve been to the factory twice now, they’re very willing to give people a tour through when they drop by, it’d just be a matter of making sure the group wasn’t too big and they were expecting us.
I’m glad there’s some interest! I’m not too worried about logistics, as I’ve said, I’ve organized events like this before. :3 The only worry would be getting enough people to make it worth while. It’s not really worth doing if only two or three people besides myself could come.
March 27, 2015 at 8:09 am #927158I would do it, but think if it was in the summer that might be better to do a road trip in warmer weather. I could probably get a friend to drive with me from Alberta down to there for a weekend.
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
March 27, 2015 at 11:25 am #927161While summer might be better weather for a road trip, I wouldn’t be able to have my husband go with me then. He wouldn’t be able to come along until after Halloween when his job slows down enough to let him take time off. He’d want to come too.
March 27, 2015 at 11:26 am #927162I’d be interested.
