People are on, but not 32 of them. 😕
July 5, 2007 at 12:12 am #574706The fireworks were in Florida – thunder and lightning along with heavy rain all afternoon so I had to exit my PC during the earlier Anniversary celebration.

That’s OK if we don’t break this morning’s record. If it didn’t start raining, I’d be outside myself. Hard to bring people together on a Holiday, especially one involving cookouts! 😛 Must find food >.> More fireworks before I fall in my fridge:
July 5, 2007 at 9:58 am #574708We had fireworks too! But then some dummy got all drunk and had to go to the ER. Paul had to go see how he was and is back there again to check on him this morning. 🙄 Some people..
July 5, 2007 at 11:47 am #574709Great pic, Lokie! Did you take it?
We didn’t end up going to see any fireworks. We were too tired after working on the house all day. But we had a nice picnic with neighbors and friends.July 5, 2007 at 3:36 pm #574710Greater Basilisk wrote:Great pic, Lokie! Did you take it?
Unfortunately, no. I went to the firework’s show in our city, but the very few pictures I took (so busy watching them), didn’t make the fireworks look spectacular at all (although they were 😀 ).
July 5, 2007 at 5:00 pm #574711I didn’t watch any fireworks either, but we did have some yummy food.
July 6, 2007 at 3:07 am #574712Well I went to the fireworks show here on base last night. Managed to get a few pictures. Here’s one of the better ones. Taken with a Nikon Coolpix using the Fireworks Show Scene Mode.
The show only lated 10 minutes though because one of the fireworks came down on fireworks yet to be launched causing a huge volley to go up early. Two people were injured. One was treated on the scene and the other had to be taken to the hospital. Just goes to show that things can go wrong even with “professional” fireworks shows.
July 6, 2007 at 1:23 pm #574713That photo is gorgeous, Peg. I wish I knew how to take firework photos with my camera!
July 6, 2007 at 3:39 pm #574714Thanks. If you have a digital camera you just might have a fireworks setting and not realize it. The camera I used is new to me (I sent the old digicam to hubbie in Iraq) and I had to call my parents before the show started to find out where the “night mode” was for the camera since my dad had the exact same one. Turns out there wasn’t just a “night mode” but also one specifically for fireworks. The firework streaks are a little wiggly because I didn’t have anything to support my arms and hold the camera steady while taking the pictures. I’ve got some really blurry ones from when my son way trying to climb me so he could cower in my lap. 😆
July 6, 2007 at 4:02 pm #574715Wow, that is a nice pic. Is your son afraid of fireworks?
July 6, 2007 at 4:19 pm #574716Well he’s only 2 and a half and the last time he saw fireworks was at Disney World in Feb. 2006. I think it was the noise that spooked him more than anything and since Daddy wasn’t around to make it seem fun he wanted to be held.
July 6, 2007 at 4:28 pm #574717Aw, Poor little guy. I wonder how my nephew did. He will be 2 in Sept. I will have to ask my sister.
July 6, 2007 at 6:50 pm #574718As promised — a reminder about the final celebration tomorrow! 🙂

Here are the times again:
mimitrek wrote:OK, I’ve tabulated the responses from the 17 people who responded and found the best times. It turns out that there was no single time that worked for everyone. Actually, to ensure that everyone can attend at least one celebration, we need to have a triple celebration — two on July 4 and one on July 7!
Here are the times for the 3 celebrations (Pacific Daylight time):
July 4
11AM PDT (10/17 people can attend)
5PM PDT (8/17 people can attend)
July 7
2 PM PDT (14/17 people can attend)I think quite a few people who didn’t respond might show up — we just might set a record! 😀 Hope everyone makes it to at least one of the celebrations!

Yup. Friend of mine is a Pyrotech and does Fireworks shows alot. His last one on Canada Day, something like 3000 shells didn’t detonate when they were lit. So cause they didn’t know if they were live, they spent the next 6hrs dressed up like bomb techs disarming them 😯 It’s now Stampede time and there is a big fireworks show everynight that he’s shooting.
