Gosh that kirin sure is pretty!! I wish he had red eyes like the orientals but that’s just pipe dreamin’!
I might suggest .. mind you I am not experienced enough to know, but I think the copper patina looks best on pieces that have different textures such as smooth scales and some fur. Orientals, kirins.Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com

October 20, 2009 at 6:02 am #787461I like the copper patina on the kirin a lot, and for once, I disagree with Nam – sorry, Nam . I think the brown eyes look great.
Also, thank you, kitsune, for taking over the posting of pictures and links! *hugs you*October 20, 2009 at 11:42 am #787462That Kirin’s a little too monochrome for me, though maybe it’s just the base color I’m not fond of–since it if were black, I’d be out-of-control drooling! I think I like the brown eyes better… π
October 20, 2009 at 11:54 am #787463I’m liking the kirin like that too. I’m just wondering if the fur were darker, it might give it a bit more contrast.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

Would you have hated it? Haha~ I kinda like it, but I like the brown too…
October 20, 2009 at 12:19 pm #787465They don’t look bad, but I think the brown looks better.

I’m with GB. π
Thanks for doing that, kitsunelady!
October 20, 2009 at 1:00 pm #787467I like the brown better also. I wish I could afford an auction piece. Good luck to all who can π
October 20, 2009 at 1:02 pm #787468I love that kirin!!
The copper patinas don’t look bad with red eyes, but I prefer the brown. I think Jen is right about the different textures….the cat candle lamp seemed kinda plain to me.

I think that the brown eyes are generally more accepted! I just like the red with the copper and greens is all. π

Sun Dragon Koi #3October 20, 2009 at 9:17 pm #787473I like the red eyes; he’s too bland with the brown eyes. I just received the Copper Koi Ki-Rin. He has brown eyes, and I love him; however, the koi spots give him a bit of color. I saw this Ki-Rin with brown eyes and wasn’t even interested, but I would definitely buy him with red eyes.
