So nothing up on Ebay for Sunday night? Just curious, although I appreciate the break to my budget…
September 19, 2011 at 4:44 pm #857069No, the weather outside was too nice and I needed groceries.
September 19, 2011 at 5:47 pm #857075I thought all the prototype OWs had to have blue or red eyes, because they were painted over leftover peacocks and emeralds? Did an unpainted few of prototypes turn up, or are they able to remove/replace the eyes now? I love the orange eyes and that serpentine prototype OW! (haven’t looked closely, but the listing here says prototype?) I’d trade my empea prototype for him! And yep, know it isn’t happening, but still love the earthiness of him, and he’d go better with my old greens. Hope there are more that may turn up on the resale market one day when I can buy again.
The blue ice is attractive, but I’m with Chrisherself- I’d prefer a darker blue. I liked the ocean and twilight a bit better.September 19, 2011 at 6:42 pm #857082Pretty pink dragon .
September 19, 2011 at 7:38 pm #857088I have been removing the eyes on the prototypes before they are painted.

When? (year wise) I was thinking about that too….the first few years 2005-2008 I think all the prototype OW’s had red or blue eyes. I wasn’t around much in 2009 (no job :P) but I think that year they started popping up with orange and other colors….right?

WINDSTONE EDITIONS “NOVEMBER #1” FEMALE GRIFFIN FIGURINE STATUE TEST PAINTSeptember 20, 2011 at 10:24 pm #857221I chose the mother dragon for Pink Flamingo as she has that incredibly elegant shape to her, similar to that of a real Flamingo. And iIf I didn’t add the orange, it would not have been Pink Flamingo. No black, no Pink Flamingo. She’d have been Pink Blob. And that wouldn’t have been right, nor an attractive title for an ebay piece. 😉
And I dig the color scheme; despite not being a big fan of pink. But when you add orange, neat things happen.
Your quote sig looks oddly familiar. >.>
I had this as a bumper sticker on my car for the longest time!

September 21, 2011 at 1:33 am #857247I adore this Griffin. P.S. Awesome job. I’d love to see you paint the November color scheme on other sculpts too.
September 21, 2011 at 2:04 pm #857279While I cannot possibly be in the bidding for eBay pieces, I would simply explode if a griffin is painted similarly, but the green is carried down into all of the feathers on the avian part, sans the flight feathers! That’d be really pretty. I love those various shades of green.
