Yeah…I’m not too crazy about the teal dorsal on that fella either, but I do think that zeppard poad is lovely! Also, the young oriental is just gorgeous!

No matter what color he’s in, the male ki-rin always looks great.

My biggest problem with these “tiger” paint jobs is… tigers don’t have straight stripes. It’s a dumb thing, but it really bothers me a lot. They should just be called “striped”, not “tiger”.

Tiger sounds better than just ‘striped’. There’s more artistic leeway when the creature in question does not exist, like a dragon. It can be whatever color, pattern or design you want it to be. So a dragon’s tiger stripes dont necessarily have to mimic a tiger’s tiger stripes. Especially on one as narrow in the body as an oriental, you don’t have much space to work with. It’d be just as difficult to paint proper tiger stripes on a ferret! The stripes come out a little more flowing on chubby bodied dragons like the OW or fledge, and more… ‘snake-like’ on the narrow bodies like the orientals or coiled.
