Wow, that was a pleasant surprise. I bid on the pink oriental and thought for sure I would be outbid in the last few seconds(and also thought it would go for way more than it did). I wasn’t and it didnt.
I have a strange fascination with the pink windstones. Because that’s the only time I like pink. Love it on the ws dragons and hate it otherwise.
That’s the only pink Windstone dragon I’ve ever liked, because Melody usually paints the dragons a light pink…and I don’t care much for pastel dragons – this was somehow an exception. I had planned to bid on it when I saw it in the gallery…until I saw the Russet Oriental. I bid pretty high on that and lost…and after seeing him, the Shell Pink just wasn’t good enough anymore. >.>; So I bought some shitajiki instead, hur hur. e.e

June 13, 2011 at 2:40 am #848075I thought the russet had a little TOO much detail color going on. I think I would like it better without the violet highlights.
June 13, 2011 at 10:58 pm #848152Haven’t been able to be on in quite awhile (just lurk sometimes), so testing to see if I can post lol.
I really quite liked the copper curlie and the copper serpentine OW. They looked like good naturalish takes on brown to me.June 14, 2011 at 1:25 am #848171June 14, 2011 at 2:33 am #848177June 14, 2011 at 10:51 pm #848221UGH. That young oriental is perfect!!! He really is!! He screams Oriental dragon to me for some reason, moreso than the other colors.

I received the Pink Fawn and the Turquoise Pearl Orientals. I have the original Oriental colors, and these are so different that I view them as a new type of Oriental; the pastel colors completely change the Oriental “look” to me. I definitely like them, but I still prefer bolder colors and more contrast. The Pearl Fawn Young has more contrast than most of the new adult Orientals, so he looks more of a traditional Oriental coloring to me.
June 16, 2011 at 12:01 am #848294June 16, 2011 at 12:10 am #848299I prefer the darker, brighter colors on the oriental. That’s why I fought harder for the Turquoise more than the others. I liked the Lavender Pearl, but really I’m wanting an Amethyst oriental more so I didn’t bid. The Shell Pink oriental is the most I have deviated from the ‘bright color’ path but I collect the pink dragons, regardless of shade.

June 16, 2011 at 7:45 pm #848364Hmmm.. I love the orientals but I haven’t really loved any of the tiger patterns in general. I’m actually particularly not fond of this one (even though its an oriental!) – the teal dorsal scales seem too out of place.
I bet he will sell really well in any case!
