I have Christmas money, so at last I can actually begin the hunt for this guy!
If at all possible, I’d like one with the stripey wings, and I’m willing to pay a bit more for it; but I’m still definitely willing to consider the regularly patterned ones.
Please please consider me if you’re looking to sell one; I’ve wanted him for ages!
Thank you!

January 8, 2007 at 11:56 pm #525721Oooh, I wish I had one too. I’m pretty sure no one will be willing to part with theirs, but we can hope 🙂
January 9, 2007 at 7:02 pm #525722Not selling mine for anything. No way! No how! It doesn’t have stripey wings anyway… he’s more tan than brown. Love him!
January 9, 2007 at 7:05 pm #525723If you see one on Ebay, snag it, cuz once the family comes out, I think they will get even more pricey.
January 13, 2007 at 2:15 am #525724Here’s a less than perfect one, but repairable:
January 13, 2007 at 2:35 am #525725Looks better than the one I won. I definatly wouldn’t pay the bin though.
January 13, 2007 at 3:16 am #525726We’ve seen that gryphon before! That’s the one that went for a RIDICULOUSLY high price a month or two ago. I guess the buyer didn’t come through.
January 13, 2007 at 5:09 am #525727What would be a proper BIN price for this one if $145 isn’t good? I haven’t been watching the griffins, but now I’m curious as to their prices now and what they’ll be after Mama Griffin comes along.
January 13, 2007 at 5:11 am #525728$145 would be a GREAT price if it were mint, but since it’s damaged it’s really a lot harder to tell. If I had the money just now I’d probably go ahead and buy it. But I just got a new cat. Vet visits, shots, spaying, etc are not cheap.
January 13, 2007 at 5:14 am #525729I hear ya! Considering the mom will be $230 or so – even if she is bigger it makes $145 a price I’d be willing to pay if that OW weren’t there.
January 13, 2007 at 5:23 am #525730I think every collector is going to price things differently. For that amount of damage I wouldn’t pay over $115 (if I really, really, wanted him). Others may not pay over $75. It really boils down to how much you want to pay, and what condition you’ll be happy with.
However, I shelled out nearly $300 awhile ago for a perfectly mint one with original box and everything. Many people would not pay that much, but for me it was worth it since it was mint, and it saved me time and (ultimately) money for shopping on Ebay. (The reason I say it saved money because I factor in having to spend time on Ebay looking, bidding, and purchasing one, only to find out it may not be in the condition it was represented as. That can add up to a lot of shipping $$$ for pieces that are not in the condition you want, and the time and effort to resell them – usually at a loss.)
January 13, 2007 at 5:23 am #525731lol…I think that is the one that I bid on. Is the seller a member of this forum?
January 13, 2007 at 7:25 am #525732that’s pretty much what the one I have looks like….although mine is in better shape…just two spots that I had to touch up with paint….
I still haven’t decided whether I’m gonna sell him or not….
but if I do….I will post it on the forum first…

THAT’S WHAT I WAS THINKING! The shot of the broken/glued ear is what gave it away for me.
I paid $110 for my stripey one. He’s got a lot of chips, but I was able to match the paint and you can’t see them at all anymore! So, eventually one will come along that’s under $200. I hope when he does, you find him 🙂 -
