If you go to the page I linked about $2 bills there’s a question about “What denominations of currency notes is the Treasury Department no longer printing?” that says “On July 14, 1969, David M. Kennedy, the 60th Secretary of the Treasury, and officials at the Federal Reserve Board announced that they would immediately stop distributing currency in denominations of $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000.”
So the answer is yes at one time there was, but it isn’t being printed any more.
May 9, 2007 at 8:26 pm #572128I used to collect $2 bills when I was younger because I thought they were neat looking. At one time you could purchase them off of Ebay.
Some more unusual bills are the silver certificates. They are no longer backed by silver, but they are sometimes sought after by collectors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Certificate). They have more of a bluish/grey tinge to them, but most people will not notice the difference, unless you look real close at the “silver certificate” label.

Aw, cool. Thanks. I wonder what those would cost on evilbay. Also I searched for the poppy quarter and a roll of them went over $100. There is this one roll that was misprinted/doubled poppy. Pretty interesting stuff.May 9, 2007 at 9:04 pm #572130SilverArrow wrote:I used to collect $2 bills when I was younger because I thought they were neat looking.
