August 3, 2011 at 12:25 pm #852750On monday I finally got the chance to see Gackt, one of my absolute favorite J-Rockers, live in my hometown! I waited nearly 6 hours at the concert hall and managed to get in the 3rd row. And the show was so totally AWESOME! I still get goose bumps whenever I think about it 🙂

Happy Anniversary Twindragonsmum&dad!!August 13, 2011 at 3:38 am #853416So, my poor car dies and I end up buying my neighbors old Buick on June 21st. 3 days later I’m in my apartment before work and I hear a cat howling outside. Nothing out of the ordinary as I’ve fed ferals for years. I look out the windows but don’t see anyone. As soon as I open the door to leave for work, the meowing stops. I assume that the cat must have run off. So, I get in my car and drive about 2.5 miles to work. 9 hours later I get back in the car to go home, and as soon as I get in… “Meow!” And I knew right away that there had been a cat under the hood all day. Ended up being a tiny gray kitten. A tiny gray kitten that would NOT come out. Not for food, not when we tapped around with a yard stick, not when we slammed the doors. My boss told me to try starting the car cause the kitten was not near the fan or belts. We were sure he’d run out. He didn’t 😛 Finally my boss suggested I drive home (as kitten had been in there at least 11 hours now) and hopefully the kitten would meow when it got home and find it’s family again. I did not like this idea but didn’t know what else to do.
Started driving REALLY slowly and only made it a few hundred feet before I saw the little guy jump out and run in the rear view mirror. I came back around and tried to find him, but no luck. I’m a huge cat lover so I was really, horribly upset about this. Thinking about it for weeks wondering what happened to that little baby and looking through the neighborhood every time I left work. I didn’t think he was old enough to survive on his own, looked small enough to still be nursing!
Fast forward to today. I’m out watering the flowers and the neighbor behind it out with her dog. Somehow we start talking about outdoor cats in the area, and she mentions how her next door neighbor found this gray kitten… Yup! Same kitten and she found it the very night I lost it! Apparently this family really loves animals and even helps with animal rescue! So, while I was worried sick about this little one, *she* was only outside a few hours before being adopted! She’s had her shots, her gummy eye is all healed up, and she has a doggie for a big brother *happy dance* I could NOT be more thrilled! I looked at the woman’s facebook page and there are lots of pics of “Lily” up (she hid in lily bushes!) and she looks very loved. I’m going over on Monday to see her :*
