chrisherself – I love the frog prince looking forward with the little peeper crawling on him even more than the one you are thinking of entering! 🙂 That one just makes me smile and is such a perfect shot!

Oh man! I think I’d be scared of placing my poad on a ledge like that! Nice picture Puffpastryofdoom! I agree on the poads living in tree holes. Ripple looks quite at home. 🙂 Where is that?

I need to get my pictures loaded this week. I lost all painting time this week though, except for like, 1 hour last night from being tired though.

A couple of entries from me! The polar bear candleholders always come off of the shelf for the winter months, and love to wander among the amaryllis and ornaments that are too pretty to get hidden in the tree 🙂

PuffPastry-WOW, that VIEW! Which state do you live in? Is that scene “in your back yard” kind of thing?

Thank you all for your nice compliments! I took these pictures at the Mohonk Preserve in New Paltz, New York! I love going there to spend the day hiking and rock scrambling while taking countless pictures! It’s so beautiful there!!! If ANYONE lives near this area and ever wants to go, let me know! I’m always eager to go (especially with a friend!) It’s definitely worth looking into! 😀

…If anyone is interested in it, there are 85 miles to explore! And it’s perfect for photo opportunities since it has trails, rock scrambles, mountains, countless overlooks, lily ponds, lakes, caves, valleys, fields, an old stone tower, and lots of other goodies! Haha…. It’s so much fun!

Catskills! It would be a 2ish hour drive from my house, but the Catskills are awesome (I drive out to Oneonta all the time, and that’s 2 hours from me on the other side of the Catskills from New Paltz, though have a lot of stuff to catch up on at the moment in the next couple of weeks). I’ll definitely have to take you up on the offer some weekend when we have nice weather! None of my friends that live near me like to hike. Even the hill on the backside of my college is ‘too much’ for some of them, despite the campus being on that hill. 😛

Haha… I know a few people like that too! (If they only knew what they were missing out on!)

Seriously though! Send me a message whenever your schedule opens up! If we can’t go this fall, then we’ll have to plan for the springtime! Then we can have a weekend filled with ADVENTURE!!! Hahaha…

….So. I’ve been looking at everyone’s photos and have come to a decision. A 13 page calendar just isn’t going to cut it. (We need a 365 page-a-day calendar instead. 😉 )

Honestly, I am in love with everyone pictures! How can anyone choose from them all???

I’m so sorry. I tried and tried but I just don’t know what to do or how to fix it. Aside from walking through the park on two separate occasions, with a heavy bag of uni’s, and spending sleepless nights, 3weeks (at least) and over 200 dollars on this whole photo bananza, I’ve also just spent the last week trying to get these right. I am now pushing 44 hours with no sleep. My back and head are killing me. Between my computer ready to have a meltdown, and me being non savvy enough, I’ve just wasted all my time and energy for nothing. I have 11 beautiful pictures to post. I know the limit is 3 but was hoping to post them before the deadline for opinions on which 3 to keep. One of these is definitly a keeper but considering I can’t get any to post, I guess non will make it. I just could cry! Everytime I try, they get cut off. I’ve tried resizing 6 times using 4 Differant photo programs and none have worked. Can anyone please explain how to get them right? I mean, explain it like I was a 3 year old cause thats how I’m feeling. Thanks in advance to anyone that can offer advice!!!!!

Aww, Megan, for starters, what program are you using to resize them?

You’re able to upload them to a photo hosting site afterwards, right?

Are you able to save the photos, but not upload? How far into the process can you get ‘normally’ before something goes wrong?

If you keep saving a new, correctly sized version of your JPEG, but it won’t size correctly when you upload it or post it on the forum, you can try deleting the one you uploaded. Then, upload the correct-sized one, but give it a different filename than the old one. I have found that photobucket won’t ‘update’ your photo if you re-upload with the same filename.

If you can upload the photos fine, but they’re just a little too large, you can add some code to your forum post to size them correctly too. The standard ‘post an image’ code on the forum looks like this (but without spaces between the brackets):

            If you do this:

….then no matter what size your uploaded image is, the code will tell it to post at 700 pixels wide.

Hope that helps–let me know if it doesn’t. And do get some rest, between all of us on the forum we’ll help you get your pics up!

            Megan –

I can never get photo bucket to work either.

However, flickr will give you nice, ready made code. If you have a flickr account (or make one) it’s MUCH easier to use.

Click on the picture you want.

Click “share” (right next to the FB and twitter logo above your picture)

It will default with “Grab the HTML/BBCode” open and set on medium – which is the perfect size for the forum.

Copy the code, past it to a forum post, and save your post.

            Picture!

Megan, if you try Flickr and still aren’t able to get them to upload, email them to me and I will post them for you 🙂

You could also use Picasa, its a free picture hosting program with Google. Thats the one I use. They have it set up where you can copy and paste the link in different sizes on the right side of the photo. It makes it easier to upload to the forum. Here’s the link if your interested. 🙂

                  Megan01,

Oh no! This is supposed to be fun, and light-hearted. I never intended to stress anyone out or– especially– cost them any money with this. 🙁

If no one else here can help you, you can email the photos to me and I can post them for you.
