I’ve only gotten one ebay piece so far, a griffin, and he had rubs on his claws from shipping. I asked for some touch up paint but haven’t heard back.
Not a huge deal, I can mix up some touch up myself and fix him – but you’re not the only one to have ebay issues drag0n. 🙂
He’s still awesome though and I’m happy to have him!
Sorry if I haven’t gotten you touch up paint! I did not get your email, or didn’t see it. Email susie(at) windstoneeditions.com
My inbox is now getting so hopelessly clogged with stuff, I can’t find anything. If have you emailed me, it is lost under tons and tons of email ads and crap.I need to go through and block ads again.August 8, 2011 at 7:55 pm #853052I sent off an email to Susie a few days ago about the Sand Old Warrior, but I never heard back. I’m sure she’s just busy. It was more of an FYI thing, so she might not respond.

I understand that. 🙂 Ads are the suck.
I did email Susie – she was the one who forwarded it on to you. However, I’m guessing she is swamped – I think we’re a pretty high maintenance bunch!
I’m not upset, was just letting drag0n know she wasn’t alone (or crazy)!
Can’t wait for my 2nd ebay piece to get here! 🙂

The problem is that if you email Susie then she emails me and it gets lost in the same pile!!
This is crazy.
OK, I just spent about 30 minutes of nonstop deleting, blocking and individually unsubscribing to every dang ad, update and newsletter on the planet, so I should be able to find real emails again!

Ahhhh…At some point you may find that you have no choice but to close that email account and create a new one. I know it’s a hassle, but you’ll appreciate it in the long run.

Yes, she had forwarded it to me and it had gotten buried under hundreds of ads in my inbox. I responded this morning.
I blocked, unsubscribed and deleted everything non-essential, so I should actually be able to find real emails again!August 8, 2011 at 10:14 pm #853063OK, I just spent about 30 minutes of nonstop deleting, blocking and individually unsubscribing to every dang ad, update and newsletter on the planet, so I should be able to find real emails again!

I know, but I’m attached to my “reptangle” email address.
By the way, raffle entries didn’t get lost because of the words in the subject line. I could do a search of my inbox and find them all.August 8, 2011 at 10:29 pm #853064Other than streaky gold finishes the one pet peeve I have is that my BG Fledgie’s belly wasn’t painted entirely. The lower third of his belly was left black. I’ve seen one in a store here that has his whole belly painted but I ordered mine from the Windstone store when they were in short supply so I never saw him before I received him.
Mine is one of these too. I got him in a trade though so I don’t know what batch he came from.
But the scratcher belly annoys me more than the fledgling. His throat and neck are colored and then the rest of his chest and stomach is just black. Baaaaaah. I understand that his curved body is probably the reason for the lack of paint but still.August 9, 2011 at 4:56 am #853095Now that everyone’s bringing it up, I went and checked my gothic unicorn too. He has white specks and areas along his back, under his tail, and along the underside of his hind legs that look like the were over-sprayed with black instead of being painted black (the white shows through making the areas look brownish). I’m kind of torn about what to do. Black is a fairly easy color to fix and I have the ability to fix it, but I’ll be re-painting sections of him black, and I’m kind of afraid that will significantly ruin its value…
I guess I’m rather spoiled though. I have many excellently painted pieces that this just kind of glares at me. I just need to think about it some more.
Send him back! I’ll fix or replace him. I do intentionally shade the black in some areas because I don’t like stark black against stark white.
However that doesn’t excuse white specks. I think I know what may of caused the white spots, but I won’t be sure until we get one of these returned.
I have been noticing small clumps of loose gypsum that is somehow getting onto these pieces and is invisible against the white casting. We rinse everything off before painting, but that doesn’t always remove the clumps. When the piece is painted, it looks fine, but rubbing in the bag during shipping might dislodge these tiny clumps revealing white specs.Susie took the initiative and contacted me about it even though I hadn’t emailed her. I thought about it and decided to exchange him out. The new one I got is perfect, and I’m very happy with him. I’m very impressed with the customer service I received. Thank you guys so much!

August 10, 2011 at 11:50 pm #853249Nothing unusual in mine, but here you go
I didn’t used to like the Scratcher sculpt all that much until I got one. In pictures, it seemed too thin and snaky (same reason I don’t like the Orientals), but in person he is actually nicely plump and it’s such a dynamic position that it’s quickly shot to the top of my favourites list.
