Just wanted to share some photos of my ebay unicorns. I got the pintaloosa #2 in the mail today, the poor girl has been through quite the ordeal! She was mailed a few days late and as a result got stuck dead smack in the middle of the stupid postal dispute/ strike nonsense up here in Canada. She cleared customs (and therefore would have been delivered) literally the day that the postal workers were locked out. So through the whole lock out she just sat at customs, almost 2 weeks. Poor thing! Miraculously, as the postal workers have NOT been too courteous to items lately, she arrived perfectly fine. I got the Varnish Appaloosa mother a few weeks ago as well, so I have some photos of the two of them together 🙂
I have to think of names for them, it sounds super lame to keep calling them “varnish appaloosa #1” and such.

Annnddd here we have my pile of equines so far. Well I have a gargoyle unicorn who is not pictured as well. I think I have all the white unicorns and pegasi except for the grand one. I do have a silver grulla mother on the way here now, as well as a grab bag baby unicorn from a trade. And then I have a black male unicorn who is at my aunt’s and will eventually be here, and a black mother coming from a trade. I need more shelves I think 😛I just got my Secret Keepers out to display for the first time. They have been packed away for months. The best place I could find was the top of my dresser. Since the combined weight of them is nearly 80 pounds, I didn’t want to take any chances.

I got my Young Poad in the mail yesterday and I LOVE HIM!! He sits on a shelf with my young unis and my baby unis, and he really looks like he belongs with them XD He’s like a palomino poad! XD

Okay, here is my little collection. It´s not nearly as impressive as most others here, but every piece has a story of it´s own that is important to me.
I really have to find a better place for my most special piece, Melody´s OOAK Treasure Chest Keeper. But at the moment he has to share 😉
My little Griffin chick just got a father and is very proud of him! Now he is impatiantly waiting for his sibling who should arrive any day now!

It’s funny because I was JUST looking through Ravenheart’s Database last night picking out all of the special pieces I wish I could own, and I was about to put down the Treasure Chest Keeper but thought “Nah, that piece is probably long gone..” XD Neat coincidence!! He’s a gorgeous one!

Do the two uni babies and two pegasus babies have significance?
Yes they have, even if its not very spectacular. I bought my first Windstones (the male and female Kirin) around 1995. I found them in a little stationary shop at a shopping mall (the only shop in Germany where I ever found any windstones) and was instantly and totally enchanted. I went there nearly every day, checking if they where still there until I saved enough of my pocketmoney to buy them.
With them came one of the windstone flyers where I first saw the Pegasi and Unicorns. Ever since then I really wanted to have them, but since I had no internet until years later there was no chance of me ordering them. Last year I finally got lucky and bought the first baby unicorn on ebay and not long after the baby pegasus without the necklace, fulfilling my whish after 16 years.
But somehow in my mind baby Unicorns are always born as twins and so I was very happy when I had the chance to buy the second one from a forum member along with the baby Pegasus with necklace.
This little Pegasus has some chips and I originally planned to repair and then repaint him, but now I´m pretty sure I will just repair him because he just fits so well with the other two. Haha, that really is a funny coincident. When I saw the auction for him I felt that I had to have him, but was pretty sure that I would never have a chance, him being a OOAK and all. So I put in my bid and went to bed. You can imagine how stunned I was, when I looked for the auction the next morning and saw that I really got him 😀 I absolutely adore him.
That is a great story, Moonbeam, Congrats!! The same thing happened to me: over 10 years ago I got a little spirit wolf at a gift shop and he came with a little flyer that had the Grimalkin on the front. I spent the next year on a quest for one. The guy I was dating at the time and I traveled over several states every weekend for months and went to some amazing places in our journey for the Grimalkin. The thrill of the hunt, the joy of finally obtaining one, and the fun trips we went on jump started my love for Windstones! :bigsmile:
I’ve got three pieces are supposed to arrive today. Usually the UPS man is here earlier in the day, so I’m watching out the door like a kid at Christmas. I should be getting a PYO, a brown Old Warrior and a brown Lap.
And yesterday I got what has to be the oldest piece in my collection. A brown Male Dragon with no felt pad. Just the stamp. Even the way he is painted seems different from the rest.
Wow, congrats on the new goodies, Wampus! I’m surprised you were able to find a brown old warrior. They are almost as rare as the old green and brown Emperors!
After many years of waiting, I finally got a goaty-corn of my very own! I’m so happy I could squee! :bigsmile: Susie even sent a little gothic fuzzy friend for him!
