Yeah, I’m bothered about Wheel of Time too. I have a feeling the last one won’t be the same. π

I heard it was terrible and had very little plot. I also am pretty sure you knew this, but one girl at work didnt: Its a musical. The few folks I know who had seen it actually walked out.
Really? I was actually going to try to see it. I bought the book but haven’t started it yet.Yep. Lots of singing… little plot. I have not seen it personally, though.
Well, I’m about done with the book and I have a good idea of how the movie will be. I might go watch it after all, just for the music, to see if that’s any good. The book is typical penny dreadful style, not well written at all, but so emotionally laden it verges on farce. I got a couple good laughs out of it.
March 28, 2008 at 12:09 pm #675329Last night some of us went to watch 10,000 B.C. My goodness, what a let-down. This is why I never go to the theaters.
I want to know where you can get from snow-covered peaks to hot tropical jungle to tundra within just days of walking. I wanna live there.
The over-sized flamingos were ridiculous. No animal behaves like that unless it’s wounded or sick.
The saber-tooth tiger, the main reason I went, was the worst. I can’t remember when I saw worse animation. It looked like it was drawn on sandpaper.
And did y’all know they had Friesians that long ago? Beats Arabians as the oldest breed by several millenia. πMarch 28, 2008 at 1:14 pm #675330I heard it was dissapointing, too. I will still go see it since I am easily entertained.
Has anyone seen Horton Hears A Who? Or something like that… Its playing tonight.
March 28, 2008 at 1:25 pm #675331Yeah, Horton sounds like fun. But I’m not going to spend money on it.

Awwww dont you think your lil brother would like it? π
March 28, 2008 at 1:33 pm #675333Actually, I think he’d love it. But the evenings that are available to me aren’t available to him because of music lessons… We’ll probably end up getting it on DVD or downloading it anyway.
March 28, 2008 at 1:38 pm #675334Ah crud…sorry to hear about 10’000 BC…I had been considering going to see it too, but probably wont now after hearing that, at least I’m saved the dissappointment. π
March 28, 2008 at 1:50 pm #675335And the entrance fee.
March 28, 2008 at 1:53 pm #675336definately…it seems like nowadays you cant find a well written movie…ANYWHERE…ugh….they’re all a knockoff of something or so hideously written it’s not worth the effort or money….*rolls eyes* π
March 28, 2008 at 1:57 pm #675337I know! The last time I saw a really good movie must have been Return of the King. The last time I saw a movie I really liked, whether it had classic potential or not, was Pirates of the Caribbean 2.
March 28, 2008 at 2:05 pm #675338For me I’d have to say the pirates of the carribean movies are the last thing I really enjoyed as well, but I have a fondness for pirates, so I’m a bit biased…lol. I saw “The Thomas Crowne Affair” on tv a few weeks ago and really liked it, but I believe that’s an older film…not sure, but it was really good. It has Pierce Brosman in it. π

It was made in 1999. π It is an excellent film, though.
March 28, 2008 at 2:08 pm #675340I’m intending to buy it, when my cash situation loosens up a bit. Well worth watching again. π
March 28, 2008 at 2:09 pm #675341My husband and I are very selective about which movies are “DVD Worthy”, and Thomas Crowne is in our collection. π
Now I have to watch it this weekend!
