Well, to be honest… I haven’t been to a theater since last summer! The last movie I saw at the theater was the Pirates of the Caribbean. Only because the in-laws wanted to see it really bad, and I was there that day. Newer movies just don’t look all that exciting to me anymore. I don’t know why. Hollywood talent just seems to be wearing thin IMO. I did want to see I am Legend though, but never got around to it. I’ve heard good things, and bad things about it. But I do like Will Smith pretty good.
I’m really mostly into movies from the 50’s thru the 70’s. Just last weekend, I got to see Three Days of the Condor, and Marathon Man. Both very good. I’m sure most of you have seen those though. For those that have not… I do recommend them. They are both awesome! Oh, and I also saw All about Eve for the first time too. I watch a lot of movies shown on AMC and TCM. I’ve mentioned before that I love Steve McQueen movies also. I’ve got box sets of his stuff. So yeah, I don’t really go to the theater much. Pretty boring probably to most for a 26 year old… but I can wait till they come out on DVD. If there are any good movies out right now, that anyone can recommend… I’d sure like to hear them though! 😀
New Indiana Jones Movie comming this summer. I’ll be there, I LOVE the Indiana Jones Movies. 😀Looking for Blue Fawn Baby Kirin

I do like Harrison Ford… but I’m not in love with him. Though, I think he was pretty handsome about 20 years ago! 😆

I heard it was terrible and had very little plot. I also am pretty sure you knew this, but one girl at work didnt: Its a musical. The few folks I know who had seen it actually walked out.
Really? I was actually going to try to see it. I bought the book but haven’t started it yet.Yep. Lots of singing… little plot. I have not seen it personally, though.
Okay. Well, I guess I’ll see how I like the book and how much time I can make.

March 19, 2008 at 3:29 am #675318being an anthropologist i have to see the fourth one. Indy’s actually based of a real archaeologist, though he wasn’t quite that adventurous.
I would help but I am just to tired to get out of bed today~
Engaged to a WeaselMarch 19, 2008 at 8:07 am #675319I heard that. Real life is rarely as cool as the movies. 😆

My mom loves Harrison Ford too. 😆 Not as much as she loves Richard Gere, though!
Quote:Signs was good, but The Sixth Sense was better. That ending is still about the best I’ve seen yet.
I agree, The Sixth Sense was better than Signs in my opinion as well. Though I didn’t like neither one too much. Signs bored me to death and the only part I liked at least slightly was that Dr. Bimbo crack. The Sixth Sense on the other hand didn’t cause me to nearly fall asleep while watching it, and it proved to be a worthy watch. Still, I would never watch it twice… And I also noticed a couple of things that bothered me greatly afterwards and even to this day I am sure there was at least one huge mistake in the movie.

A fourth Indiana Jones movie? Are you serious? 😮 Awesomeness, I have to see that one when it comes out here. I just loved the first three when I was a kid! Though when I watched them again some time ago I couldn’t help but laugh through the movies. They are… ridicilous to the extreme at times. But I guess that’s just part of their charm, eh?
Talking about new parts to some well-known movie series… I am kinda looking forward to checking out the new Rambo as well. Just because it’s… Rambo. I have to admit I want to see the movie mainly for the laughs.
Haha, Rambo Stallone should become the next Californian governor after Terminator Arnold.
Ah… Please tolerate with my lame jokes!Otherwise… I haven’t been watching too much movies. I just realized, though, that the latest three movies I have watched have all been wuxia movies. Well, that doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone who knows me and my enthusiasm for Asian movies, especially the Chinese movies of the wuxia genre or Japanese samurai movies. The latest wuxia movie I watched was Fearless, which, in my most humble opinion, was pretty good, though I still find the stunning and artistic Hero better, along with The House of the Flying Daggers.
Oh, to those who wonder what the term wuxia means, I shall give you a short explanation here so it won’t bother you for the rest of the eternity: the term wuxia literally means “martial arts heroes” and it’s a sub-genre of the martial arts genre in general. It’s a mixture of the Chinese honor code, xia, and China’s history in wushu (better known as kung fu). Most wuxia stories, in both cinema and literature, are adventure stories set in the Ancient China in which most (or at least some of the main) characters know martial arts. A very common plot features a young male protagonist who has faced or faces a great tragedy after which he is exposed to extreme hardships and ordeals which eventually allow him to grow as a person and let him reach the ultimate understanding of his way as a warrior. But of course the stories may differ greatly from writer to writer.Eh… Sorry for the long babble. 😀
March 19, 2008 at 3:32 pm #675321You know, I saw Rambo and it was not bad at all. I thought they were gonna try to make him a sex object and show him with his shirt off all the time, but they didnt. The movie was actually good, though very gory. I would give it a chance if you can stand the gore.

I can stand very extreme gore so that won’t be a problem. But it’s good to know it was actually good… And it’s even better they did not make him run around with his shirt off! I have never liked that aspect of the movies. -__-; I can stand blood and innards anytime but some overly manly (and sweat shiny) muscle is something that gives me the shivers.

😆 Shiny, manly muscle is usually why I go to movies 😆 But no, it wasnt like that at all. I was scared it was going to be (I only went and saw it because Paul wanted to) but they did very well, considering his age.

The movie blew goats! They should have just skipped to Valley of the Horses with flashbacks to her life with the Clan…I really think that would have worked out better. Unfortunately because it failed so miserably, there won’t be another.
What I really want to know though is, when is Jean gonna get off her a$$ and finish the last book?

Just looked it up for info, apparently she is alive and working on it, but sheesh, it’s been 10 years already, how long does it take to write a book? I know of authors who can do 2 or 3 good stories a year! 10 years is just a bit long to wait!
It’s like Robert Jordan and him starting a Conan series before he finished Wheel of Time, and now, Wheel of Time will have to be finished by a ghost writer, cause he didn’t stay on task and finish what he started, I am so mad at him for that.
