Pumpkins and Jack-O-Lanterns

I love that your eye still has the stem, pipsxlch!

Unfortunately even though I got two pumpkins to carve, I started carving them and then got annoyed and gave up. One was too small and firm to get much of anywhere with, and the other I just chose a much-too-hard design to do. I am just not a vegetable sculptor I guess! Oh well, perhaps I’ll try again next year, with a less difficult pattern 😀

I saw a very clever pumpkin-with-stem design this year. It was very cute. The maker carved eyes and a mouth at the stem end of the pumpkin and had the long curving stem as the nose. Sort of a Pinocchio effect, at least in the daytime. I didn’t see it lit so don’t know if it worked after dark.
