I will also jump in here for any new forum members who may be wondering…did she know??
Bodine (Mimi) is an amazing woman with a heart of gold. She is kind, considerate of others, honest and generous of spirit and heart. She would NEVER be party to any of this sort of thing and it broke my heart for her to see that this con man is using her art this way…….
Mimi is one incredible lady and I do not want this man to tarnish her in any way. If anyone new to the forum or in general needs references I am sure that there would be a long list of people out there to tell you that Bodine is a great person, honest with sales, giving in a way I have never seen before and prompt with any and every payment/purchase.
This man makes me so angry with his “USE” of Bodines work for his own personal gain and that he is using her name to scam people is disgusting to the enth degree. Despicable man with no character or integrity at all.
Don’t let this dishearten you Bodine. Those who know you and care about you know without a doubt that you had nothing to do with the scam this @$$hole is pulling. I hope windstone pulls his ability to sell windstones. He does not deserve to represent this company in any way shape or form.
Huggs Mi, Ya know I love ya! 🙂
Hear, hear! Bodine is a WONDERFUL person with nothing but the best business and personal ethics. She is honest, and would never do anything to misrepresent herself as a painter for WS. So, for all new forum members, please remember we <3 Bodine, and believe she had nothing to do with this madman's fraudulence.
Too bad he's not coming where I live….I could have really had a lot of fun with him. 😀
I bet you did enjoy yourself, drag0n! 😉

Be more of a Hoot to have Melody herself be feed BS by the guy and then correct him in person…. might also teach him a much needed lesson.

I don’t deal with unpleasant people if I can help it.

I hope things got dealt with, but the misrepresentation part is the most worrisome. And I think if he is doing something illegal, it could be federal because he is crossing state lines to go to the cons. Anyway, this thread felt like old times with the scheming 😉
July 25, 2013 at 5:50 am #900672I remember this guy (Imagine That) from MegaCon in 2007. I was new to collecting, and bought a gold mother from him – but I don’t think he was charging crazy prices then. He did say that Grimalkin was about to be retired, so my mom bought one – but for a normal price, I think. I think he sells at DragonCon too.

July 26, 2013 at 2:18 am #900727The last few times I went to Dragon*Con, it was Dragon’s Lair that sold Windstones there. They are a different seller.

My art: featherdust.comJuly 26, 2013 at 4:42 pm #900754John, sib found him first, I just merely recorded him. LOL! No thanks necessary, I actually had a bit of fun with it. I wish I could have gotten the REALLY juicy stuff on tape as well.
Also, I am not so much griping about the prices. People can sell their items for whatever they want. I really don’t care. It’s the “painted by the lead painter” garbage and the “send to windstone to repairs” which is troublesome. I almost busted out laughing when he was going on about sending broken pieces back to Windstone… I really wanted to be like ” Oh really? Is that why people send so many to me to fix? I didn’t realize Windstone took care of that directly. Guess I should be referring all my customers back to them. ” followed by a long “Duuuuuuuuuuuuh” while crossing my eyes and drooling.
In this guy’s defense: in them old days, before ebay started to get popular, we DID take broken things back from anyone, and exchange them for a new piece, no questions asked.

That has happened. I remember a store where the sales person/owner said he was a friend of Mr. Pena, who was sick or dead ( I don’t remember)… and these were his last pieces.
Store owners really don’t like to be corrected.
The mind set of a store owner is that they are the experts on their products, even if they are making stuff up.July 26, 2013 at 5:17 pm #900756I would have a lot of fun with this guy if I was ever at a con with him. So… you are a zombie with a gender change? 😉 Good to know!

I can vouch for Dragons Lair! They used to be locally owned probably like 15 years ago in Raynham, MA before he closed his booth down and started traveling to cons instead of operating in a brick and mortar location. I bought probably a good 30% of my collection from them when I was first getting started back with peacock male griffins were like $76 dollars retail or something like that, LOL! Great guy runs the place <3 He still remembers me when I was a little girl, like 12-16 years old saving up to buy Windstones when all the other little girls were buying Barbies!
Got a busted Windstone?
