Thank you! I actually have a few unicorn foal resins I’ve been painting up lately on my page in the Non-windstone Art threads. Other than that I haven’t really had a chance to get more into more Artist resins since most are so expensive lol.

Soooooo….my original plan I had my Hipp didn’t work out how I envisioned, the color combo just wouldn’t work out for me. So now I’m at a bit of a loss at what I want to do color wise lol. So I think I may be open to making him a commission piece if anyone is interested! I’ll make a Ad in the Classifieds later!
I’ve already painted the rock base, but I could change it if needed. My Hipp came with light blue eyes and crystals for the base.
Here she is so far:

Thanks! Honestly tho, the base practically does all the work for you, all the textures and details are amazing!

That is exactly what I thought when I was painting mine.
May 16, 2016 at 9:40 pm #945432Here’s the Hipp as of right now, she’s still in her ugly stage but she’s getting a lot better, she’s fighting me less lol.

Not currently open for PYO commissions.May 17, 2016 at 2:12 am #945457I am just loving what I see so far of this little one! I can’t wait to see it all finished up! 🙂
May 17, 2016 at 3:31 am #945461Wow, that is a very pretty ugly stage, Meowmix! She is going to be lovely when finished.
May 17, 2016 at 4:24 am #945465Thank you both! For some reason, even though it’s a very simple color scheme it’s been pretty difficult to get it just right, she just keeps trying to go in a different direction!

Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
May 22, 2016 at 9:57 pm #945675So here’s where we’re at now, she is SO close to being done and it’s driving me crazy! The main problem is I don’t know how to implement the spots on her tail to match the other fins, each time I’ve tried it doesn’t look right. But I feel like if I don’t have spots on the tail it won’t look as cohesive, ugh, it’s driving me nuts, I just need to finish the tail and the base and I can call it finished! Anyone got ideas?

Not currently open for PYO commissions.May 22, 2016 at 10:38 pm #945678I would say do the spots between the ribbing of the tail fin, along the blue lining like you’ve done on the other body fins, but use larger dots on the outside edges of the fin and gradually going smaller as you move toward the joint between the lobes of the fin.
Edit: Conversely, you could also put the spots along the top of the fin instead of along the blue lining. Or just carefully use the blue to highlight the natural dips already present on the tail fin so that you’d have rows of the dots going up from the end of the fin.

Yeah, I may give that another try. I also really like the blue filling in the natural gaps/holes up along the tail but sadly the sculpt only has the pronounced dips on two rows of each fin, which I’ve already filled in. Perhaps I’ll try to replicate that in the other ridges?

May 22, 2016 at 11:09 pm #945681Aw thank you! I’ve redone this tail fin several times now and I’m nearly at the point of just leaving it be, it wouldn’t be so annoying if I didn’t have to repaint the ombre effect every time. I’m going to experiment one more time and if it doesn’t work out I’ll leave it as is/plain. And then I can move back onto the base and finish her up!
Which will then bring me to the question of, glossy or matte, oh the indecision!
