When the shoe was in the background of the “things of some kind” photo I thought it was a plague doctor bird sculpt.
January 15, 2023 at 10:48 am #1667310When the shoe was in the background of the “things of some kind” photo I thought it was a plague doctor bird sculpt.
Yes, it did resemble a fancy bird. It got lots of comments on Facebook.
Among the comments, somebody said, “It looks like it should be part of a renn faire costume. …”
Someone else said, “Reptanglian dress shoe.”
And there was this comment, “Looks like a lovely riding shoe. Sensible heel.”Or maybe it isn’t really a shoe … Somebody remarked, “Hmmm… I thought the Barong guy morphed into a surprise…”
Melody replied, “this shoe does fight evil…”February 20, 2023 at 8:18 am #1668688Posted on Melody’s deviantArt page – clay sculpture of a mother pig and piglets. 🙂
Melody says, “This old sculpt has been sitting around in my studio for at least 30 years, if not longer. I did this a s a mock up for a wood carving or larger sculpture I planned to make… and never did of course. This is made of air dry clay. Momma pig is about 12 inches long. She has five babies under her I did design this family so that they could be cast in gypsum, but we never produced them.
People have mixed feelings about pigs. Especially feral ones. Especially in Texas.
– but I think they are beautiful.”February 20, 2023 at 9:52 am #1668690I’m not a fan of pigs in general, but this is a lovely sculpture. The piglets under momma’s belly are just perfect!
