Aww, glad she finally gets to go home.
October 6, 2008 at 1:07 am #704189I can understand why you would be upset about her wanting another baby! Although I am still glad that Mallory gets to go home soon!
October 6, 2008 at 1:17 am #704190I’m glad she’s doing so much better, she looks a million times better too!!
October 6, 2008 at 7:53 pm #704191I’m glad to hear she’s going home soon!
October 6, 2008 at 10:03 pm #704192Eaglefeather, I did a bit of research on the HELLP symdrome, it says there is a 5% to 27% risk for it to happen a second time…those are relatively low odds, the only real worry is her blood pressure. If her blood pressure can’t be controlled with meds that she can still take while being pregnant, then I don’t think she should risk trying for another child.
That said, if it is possible to keep her blood pressure at a safe level, she hasn’t suffered any damage from this go around and current BP situation, then I think it is a possibility for the future, say in 2 or more years once her body has been stable for a while.
If they really want another child, adoption or IVF with a surrogate might be the better options.
They can take her egg and his sperm and have someone carry the child to term who won’t be running such huge risks for a happy outcome.
Give her a bit of time, and then suggest she consider the other options out there for increasing their family. Since going through all this again with another child would be awful.

October 8, 2008 at 12:24 am #704202yes, this is good, now perhaps the verbal jabs at you from Carol will taper off. Now that she has a beautiful little girl to tend to 24/7. It’s going to be a big change for them, I hope they manage all that paraphinalia okay…I have no idea what I would do if I had to deal with all those tubes and things sticking out of my little girl.
Got to hand it to them, they are pretty strong people to deal with all that for all this time. I pray that in time Mallory won’t need any of that crap and will be able to be a normal child soon.
