Lasohaney, I understood what the typo meant, so all good =D
My first PYOs were…ummm… not well painted. LOL But I needed the practice to improve. And it’s all about having fun =D
My first dragon I did in 2006 looked like this:

Yup, under that new coat of paint is the old dragon.I don’t paint often enough or quick enough to make such huge improvements in my skill anymore. “cue tiny violin” I have so many ideas, but many will never see the light of day. LOL
June 19, 2014 at 10:01 pm #914400Thank you Lokie.

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.October 19, 2014 at 7:30 pm #920863I love the Kitsune PYO! When I first got the blank Kitsune PYO, the first thing I did was paint in his huge smile until I could get to the rest of him. I painted him in a way that I’d imagine a Kitsune red fox would look if I drew him in a children’s book. Not necessarily cartoony, but not super realistic either. Subtle antiquing. He looks very satisfied indeed =) Satin Finish. For Sale.
October 19, 2014 at 7:54 pm #920864He’s lovely, Lokie! He’s got a very satisfied smile 🙂

October 27, 2015 at 2:56 pm #936445Oh man, finding this old thread was difficult. It’s been a year and 10 days since I completed my last PYO.
This is an almost complete Sooty/Smutty Buckskin PYO Unicorn. The horn fell out, but that only made it easier to paint. Haven’t decided quite yet what color that will be… gold, copper, bronze ? Anyways, this paintjob started as an experiment with a new dappling technique. I won’t say it was an epic failure (that’s probably too hyperbolic), but it was definitely a mega HUGE failure. But I couldn’t scrap it, and basically have repainted most of it, covering the majority of the dapples. Still, I found myself loving his new paint job. Its very rich looking in person, and for some reason, my camera/lighting makes his undercoat look orangish, but it definitely isn’t.

This guy is exceptionally handsome. I really love the rich chocolatey browns (which to be honest, are some of my favorite horse colors). If I may say, I think an old gold or antique copper would be a lovely accent to him. Bronze is a good color, but perhaps it would be too dull for this guy? Anyways, beautiful job on him! I can’t tell he was salvaged from another paint scheme at all!

https://www.redbubble.com/people/prezaurian?ref=artist_title_nameOctober 28, 2015 at 2:39 pm #936471Thanks, and yeah, I’ll probably pass on the bronze. At one time, I make paper cones to fit over the PYO unicorn horn and painted them all the metallic colors so I could get a preview of what each color would look like against the paint schemes. But I seem to have lost them and am to lazy to make them again LOL
October 28, 2015 at 6:29 pm #936474Ah, lovely!!! So warm 🙂 My fails never turn out this nice.
I’d go with a gold horn and antique it with bronze or dark metallic brown.
