November 24, 2009 at 6:22 am #786716Yeah – I want to see the inside again too! I’ve only been in there once, a sum total of half an hour, if not less.
I’m thinking about starting a blog about this whole adventure, once the bureaucratic hurdles are behind me. That way I can keep track of my progress.
The first thing to do will be to refinish the parquet – it’s been under a rug for years and needs some buffing. After that I can start putting in furniture and décor. *so excited*November 24, 2009 at 6:58 am #786717Congrats GB!!
November 24, 2009 at 5:21 pm #786718Wow! Congratulations GB. That place is beautiful, and what a view.
November 24, 2009 at 6:43 pm #786719So exciting isn’t it. I love redoing a new place to suit me. I just hate having to do the upkeep…dusting, vacuuming…blech. 😀
November 25, 2009 at 5:47 am #786720I actually like vacuuming. Ever since I was little I’ve gotten such a kick out of getting the little speck of dirt and listening to it rattle up the tube.
I’m ridiculous. XDNovember 25, 2009 at 5:52 am #786721LOL! 😆

On that note, we found a house as well. After five failed offers, we looked at a new house under construction, and bought it. Came out about $20-$25,000 less than the 3-4 year old houses, and we got to pick all brand new appliances. I get my office that fits my massive desk, the office is above the basement where the electrical is for easy wiring .. we got four rooms total upstairs, a full living room, dining room, the entire house is tile and hardwood, NO CARPET, no smoking, no pets, no NOTHING to concern myself with.
The builders are two brothers, not a big company, and have been absolutely amazing to deal with. Little addons, big addons, you name it, they’ve handled it. They let us move all of our storage stuff out of the rental unit and into the basement while they finish the floor, saving me another $400 in storage fees.
The downside is we’ve been living with in-laws for almost two months and it’s getting ‘trying’ at times. I make do by working long hours (ha ha, good one, I just started that now?) and by continuing my flight training.
One guess what the possession date is. No, it’s not tomorrow.. but it’s soon 😉
This is the only picture I have of the house so far, it’s about one month old.
