And some of us know far too well what snow is. :puke:

Yeah, I’ll make the acquaintance of snow way too often up there.
Don’t get me all excited just yet, guys! I’ve only put in an offer. No reply on it yet, no signature, no nothing. The place isn’t mine until I’ve signed on the dotted line. Now I’m nervous that they’re waiting for a bigger bid from another interested party…
But thank you for putting the financial aspect into perspective, Snap and Jen and the others. And congrats, Snap, on your new place! I wanna see pics too!
I’ll post pics of mine if and when I get it.

Yeah, well, if these “sellers” don’t wake up and act like sellers, rather than buyers, they’re not going to have a sale for much longer.

Either way, we’re packing up and moving out of the condo on Thursday, and out with the parents. If we don’t get it, we’ll offer on something else before the new year.

I’ve got a huge website move on Wednesday .. then I’m gonna bust up my back on my 29th move on Thursday.. then it’s Windstone moving on Friday. Gee isn’t it nice to be busy again. Wait. It never ended, my bad.

                #786646

Oh, so the sale isn’t even final yet, Snap? I guess I better wish you good luck again, in that case.

It’s beyond the offer, it’s now in the conditions stage – financing final approval, inspections, title examination, real property report, etc.

But they are being VERY Inflexible about everything. They wouldn’t give on the possession date, they wouldn’t give on the price at all, and now they’re being roadblocks on the inspection date/time. I told my realtor today, this is the last straw. If they want to continually demand their way for everything, they can find another buyer. We were told that one sale fell through already before our offer, and now I know why.

I mean, come on, you’re selling a half million dollar property – show some respect for your buyer. They complained about getting up early tomorrow morning because I wanted to bring both my inspectors (yes, I even scheduled them together in one trip) for 9:30. They don’t “want to get up that early”. I am stupidly booked doing website migrations all week, but because Windstone isn’t until 7 PM on Friday, I re-booked the inspections for 8:30 AM Friday morning. So now they have to get up even earlier.

If I get a call in the morning complaining about the time, I cancel the offer based on the inspection condition – we aren’t being allowed to do it, so they can take the offer and shove it. Good luck selling the house in Winter when they want to move to their new one.

It may be a nice house but it’s far from the only one out there.

Well that sounds ridiculous. I doubt people are trying to tear the house out of their hands; it should be no-brainer that getting money takes a bit of work. And yeah, getting up at 9 a.m. is wayyyy early. Seriously, Snap, what were you thinking?

Where’d the rolling eyes emoticon go?

I’m always fascinated on how people pull power trips. Bunch of weirdos! I hope you can finally get your inspectors in, Snap.

Snap, if the housing market there is anything like what it is in most of the US, they should be bending over to help you give them your money. Absolutely giving you the red carpet treatment. Not the other way around.
I don’t know how much money you’ve sunk into getting to your closing date (I know it cost us several grand before all was said and done with inspectors, surveys, transfer costs, lawyer fees, etc etc) but if it’s not a huge loss for you and if you’re not completely head over heels with the house, I’d be saying ‘seeya’, personally.

Nope, the real estate market here is doing good, and I believe “great” in Alberta, where Snap is. In the Toronto region, prices went down a bit – both selling and buying – but not all that much.

Ah, I apologize then! I’ve been living in areas where you are lucky to sell a house for less than what you initially paid! Some of the houses we were looking at last spring.. as in Spring of 2008, are still on the market and they are not very expensive.
