She is; she’s a good doggie. She also looks pretty funny when she’s sitting there in the doorway and her eyes start closing and she begins to list to the right… 😆 She has mountains and woods all around to go play in but she’d rather be bored in my vicinity.
The chalet is, except for the frozen waterpipes, ready to be lived in.
On Sunday my brother mounted new lights in the library
and work room (lousy pic, so I’m not posting it 😳 )
I put another coat of color on the bedroom walls, made up the beds, and my table was delivered. It’s handmade; a work of art, based off a medieval design and worked in antique spruce wood. It’s also the reason I’m dead broke now and until May, but the cost was worth it.
March 2, 2010 at 7:55 am #786790What a positively enchanting home! Thanks for sharing more pics! 🙂
March 2, 2010 at 4:38 pm #786791😮 OMG GB! Congrats on your wonderful home and great view!
I would love to go visit if I could. (not that it will ever happen so no worries)
You love furs? I have two of the African Springbok Skins.
I use one as a pillow for the bed and the other over the cedar chest. You must be sooo happy to finaly have your own home. How I envy you.
Hope you live a great life in that beautiful place you purchased. 😀March 3, 2010 at 12:48 am #786792Thanks for all the photos GB!! I love your new home!! Are you living there yet?
March 3, 2010 at 6:12 am #786793Thanks all for your very kind comments and encouragement. You know you’re all welcome to come visit if you ever end up in my neck of the woods! (Not all at once, though… 😳 😆 )
@Starbreeze: Not quite. The pipes are still frozen; I have to wait for them to thaw before I can live there full time. It’s snowing all week up there again, so I don’t know when I can actually move in. It’ll go hand in hand with a new job in the area, whenever I get one. I’ve got an application pending, but I’m not sure I really want the job (more desk jockeying). I’m searching the internet for jobs having anything to do with trucks, cars or motorcycles but I haven’t found one yet that grabs me and hollers, “You’ll be happy to do this every day for the next few years!”March 9, 2010 at 9:29 am #786794What a wonderful house. It just seems so warm and cozy. Thank you for sharing.
March 9, 2010 at 2:12 pm #786795It’s looking lovely, GB…big congrats!! 😀
March 31, 2010 at 9:15 am #786796So GB when you are not living in your new home when do you stay? At your parents? Being nosy 😳
April 1, 2010 at 6:15 am #786797😀 Yeah, now I’m splitting time between my parents’ house in Zurich and the chalet. I recently started attending theory lessons for the trucker license; I signed up for classes that are near the chalet, so I have a reason to stay there at least once a week. (It’s a minimum 90 minutes between Zurich and the alp.) Now, with the weather thawed, I’m easing into staying up there often, though until I can turn my back on Zurich I’ll still be sleeping at my parents’ house several times a week.
Yesterday I brought up three nice carved wooden chairs with leather seating that Opa generously presented to me, so now I can even have guests at the table!April 1, 2010 at 1:19 pm #786798*plots a huge Windstone party at GB’s* 😀 j/k It would be cool to visit some day, though.

Yeah, actually. There are enough motorcycles to go around. 😀
Last week Opa generously made me a gift of three carved chairs with leather seats and backs. They fit in nicely, don’t you think?
