How long it’ll take me to fill up the bookcase? Haha – hopefully a while! I have four boxes packed up at my parents’ house now, and still have about four boxes’ worth left to transport up. Until I get another case with tall shelves my big books will stay in a box on the floor. But I think it’ll take a while for me to completely fill the existing shelf, which is good, because I’m never going to stop buying books and once I own a book it goes in my library. I don’t trade or sell my books.
The ceiling is special. It’s normal wood in the small rooms, but in the main room the wood is taken from the old St. Gallen city theater, so it’s historic stuff (and very pretty).
When we were up there last weekend my brother started work on the light installations. I’m having him put up two wall lamps, and it turns out he has to pull the wiring through the ceiling, which means he took down some of the wood… It can be put up again, and I do have spare squares, but still, I got kinda worried for a moment. 😆

Great bookcase and your driveway made me miss snowboarding in Switzerland. Wow… sand is ok, but there is something to be said for some nice powder.

Have the powder, Ski. Have as much as you want. Send me some Hawaiian sunshine in exchange. 😆

More progress from the weekend. (I hope I’m not spamming you guys with these photos.)
On Sunday my brother, who’s an electrician, came up to chalet with me and we installed the new lighting of the main room.
This photo isn’t so great because it was a bit smokey. (I still haven’t quite the hang of the woodstove up there.) Please don’t mind the mess; the kitchen and bedroom are getting their last coat of paint so there’s stuff scattered everywhere…

Here’s a closeup of the chandelier, with the snow covered pines out the window:

And just for laughs: I had Beretta up there with me and I tied a strip of packing foam around her neck in a bowtie.

                  😀
This week I found out that my table is done, and it’ll be delivered tomorrow. My brother will also mount the new lights in the library and workroom… And that’ll be it for moving in for a while. A loveseat, desk, chairs and more shelves come when I have money again – like, summer.

                    *hugs little GB*

dawww they grow up so quickly them little ones!

                    just kidding 😉
so, for a normal GA using person, this isnt exactly within reach, huh?
I’ll see that you can soon get more company from like… dragon heads on the wall. Need any more company? flat one perhaps?

                    #786787

Haha, I am growing up darn fast, aren’t I? Never would have thought of this a year ago. 😳
Yes, my walls are rather bare right now. I’ve got the three artworks from you ready to go up next time, and there’s a spot reserved for the dragon head. Still looking forward to that! What other sorts of flat original artworks might you have lying around?
                    I shouldn’t ask; I’m so broke it’s not funny.
Actually, there’s a Postauto stop up on the pass and about a hundred meters down the road from me… It’s easier to get to by driving, but you can come via ÖV. One of these days I’ll invite you over and be chauffeur. You can bring your art materials; it’s very inspiring up there.

Looking good, GB! Love that chandelier and the wall sconces.

                      Beretta must be very patient.
