December 31, 2009 at 10:02 pm #786749AnonymousHere you go. I snuck in last night and took some pictures. The place is not done, and absolutely filthy.
December 31, 2009 at 10:06 pm #786750WOW Snap, your new place is gorgeous! Congratulations again! 😮 😀
January 2, 2010 at 2:09 am #786751Nice Snap!! That is going to look awesome when finished. I totally love hardwood floors.
January 2, 2010 at 3:45 am #786752Wow! Nice big house Snap! Congrats! 😀
But what I really want to do is sneak into GB’s pocket and go home with her! 😳January 3, 2010 at 4:40 pm #786753Adraenyse wrote:Grats GB!!!
On that note, we found a house as well. After five failed offers, we looked at a new house under construction, and bought it. Came out about $20-$25,000 less than the 3-4 year old houses, and we got to pick all brand new appliances. I get my office that fits my massive desk, the office is above the basement where the electrical is for easy wiring .. we got four rooms total upstairs, a full living room, dining room, the entire house is tile and hardwood, NO CARPET, no smoking, no pets, no NOTHING to concern myself with.
The builders are two brothers, not a big company, and have been absolutely amazing to deal with. Little addons, big addons, you name it, they’ve handled it. They let us move all of our storage stuff out of the rental unit and into the basement while they finish the floor, saving me another $400 in storage fees.
The downside is we’ve been living with in-laws for almost two months and it’s getting ‘trying’ at times. I make do by working long hours (ha ha, good one, I just started that now?) and by continuing my flight training.
One guess what the possession date is. No, it’s not tomorrow.. but it’s soon 😉
This is the only picture I have of the house so far, it’s about one month old.
New House FrontOh wow, it looks great! Congrats and hopefully, no more bad surprises.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

WOOHOO

If everyone knows the situation, I doubt anyone will say a word Snap. 😀
Isn’t always one thing after another though? I hate it when this happens! 😡January 4, 2010 at 7:07 am #786756Thanks for all the congratulations. I’m very excited and spent the weekend working up in the chalet. Florian took down the ugly satellite dish; Dad pulled up the carpets to reveal the beautiful dark hardwood floor underneath. I removed the old contact papers of the cabinets and put in the first of dishes and pantry supplies. Today I’ll call our “floorman” and ask him to plan in refinishing the parquet; once that’s done I can move in the first bits of furniture: reading chair, footstool and a wall-to-wall bookshelf. 😀
January 4, 2010 at 7:35 am #786757I think I’ll join the others in saying that I will gladly move in with you! Or at least near you. 😀

January 4, 2010 at 12:17 pm #786758That’s the beauty of it – there’s nothing really near. 😆
But of course any of you are very welcome to to visit any time you like. 🙂 -
