Chickened out. She seems active and happy again, so we are waiting. I’m sorry for calling wolf and playing with everyone’s emotions.
I won’t be mentioning euthanisia again until after it’s done. 🙁
I would do the same thing… Seeing them happy and active would make me apply the breaks too. So no worries on calling wolf. Just enjoy every second you can! 😉

August 21, 2008 at 10:47 pm #726060Gosh. You all are so understanding. I just feel like I need to keep her around as long as she wants to be. She seems ok (not “well” mind you, but ok) right now. She ate a little earlier and is resting on the couch. I will go join her in a few minutes. This morning she peed on the floor outside the litter box, and she did it again last night right after I cleaned it, so I know it’s not because it’s dirty. She has been banned from the bedroom during the day, but can come in to sleep with us at night.
I really wish the PYO flapcats would be made soon. I’d like to get someone to paint one of her. Her markings are so special, that it would have to be specifically done, I think.

I’m really looking forward to those too, I lost a Himalayan just over two years ago and I’d love to have someone paint a PYO of her.
August 21, 2008 at 11:36 pm #726062Hang in there, it is hard loosing a pet that you have had for so long. Goodness knows, I understand. We have had 4 dogs in the last 2 years pass away.
Hugs!!!! Hang in there!
August 25, 2008 at 3:20 am #726063Well, she’s gone. We brought her in on Friday. She was just not comfortable – couldn’t sit longer than five minutes in one position. She kept hiding behind the couch too. I couldn’t stand her suffering, so I had Walter make the appointment.
The minute the vet gave her the shot, I regretted it. She died almost instantly, and I want her back. I just want her back. I can’t stand this house anymore without my shadow following me with her sweet little mew. She wasn’t at the door, waiting for me when I came home from the Ren Fest.
I’m supposed to start teaching classes tomorrow, and I don’t know how I’m going to stand it. I just want to go back in time and take it back. 😥
August 25, 2008 at 3:28 am #726064I’m so sorry, sending my love to you. 😥

August 25, 2008 at 3:51 am #726067Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent; Her eager body quivers. Suddenly she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, her legs carrying her faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

August 25, 2008 at 3:59 am #726068😥 I’m sorry Emerald…but she is not suffering anymore and the fact that she went so fast is probable a sign that it was time. My baby went just as fast and I aslo want her back but now I know it was best.

August 25, 2008 at 10:04 am #726072Emerald, I just read your thread and I am really sorry about your kitty.
August 25, 2008 at 11:23 am #726073I’m so sorry she was suffering, and that you had to make the hardest choice for her. Sometimes making the right choice is hell. Try to take some comfort in the fact that she was hurting, and you did it for her sake. *hugs*
