I will put the Keeper in when it was requested; however, if when you go to order (should you get someone who asked for one), there are none, then go for something else. Your person will understand. Don’t sweat it!
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

Same here. In fact since they just came out and not everyone got one I think they shouldn’t be allowed in this swap since we don’t know if there are going to be any more made in time.
I wouldnt go so far as to say they should not be allowed. Maybe they cant be requested, but I dont think they should be not allowed. I would kinda like to paint one and use it as my swap peice.
January 13, 2008 at 4:36 pm #651350hey why not, anyone who can do a keeper let dragonmedly know, then if someone asks for one just match them up to those that can, most of us already stated what we wanted anyway, and most of us know that the keeper’s are all sold out,gee i was wondering how many keeper’s did they make anyway ❓

Someone said there were 50 in the store.
January 13, 2008 at 9:40 pm #651352well that’s a fast sell out gee i was lucky to get even one, guess we all must be pretty desperate for something new to paint 😆
January 14, 2008 at 1:34 am #651353I kinda think that since the keeper is so new and ppl haven’t had time to practice on them then it might not be a good idea. But maybe when people ask for a keeper then you could try to pair to someone that got a keeper. My 2 cents anyway. 😉
January 14, 2008 at 3:45 am #651354The one thing I’ve liked about the swap is the picks were totally random. A name was picked out of a hat and matched with another name picked out of another hat.
Matching a name with who can paint a keeper or someone who doesn’t like to paint griffs throws the randomness out the window.
I mean either way, it will still be fun, just more orchastrated I guess.
Just my .02January 14, 2008 at 4:26 am #651355A few things to keep in mind:
PYO keepers are MUCH larger and take a lot longer to paint than the other PYOs, in my experience. Remember, they are nearly the size of the Male dragon!
Along those lines, they are also much heavier. More expensive to ship!Others may feel differently but I place a higher value on a painted keeper than the other PYOs due to the size, complexity, etc.
Also I’d love to join but I am just way too busy. I still owe ddvm and wolflodge PYOs from last year!! I’m working 14+ hours a day as it is. I’m sorry.

Is it really that big? They said 8 inches. Isn’t the male dragon bigger than that?

I can’t wait to see!The male dragons are 9″ tall. I didn’t realize the keeper PYOs were that big! 😯
January 14, 2008 at 1:45 pm #651358Guys, it’s totally up to you what you paint. So far, very few people have the Keeper on their “wish list”, and it’s usually not the only choice. Price-wise, it is the most expensive of the PYOs, but only by 3$ over the unicorn. Time-wise, that’s something else entirely. Once again, you’re not obligated to paint one!
As for orchestrating, I need to do that anyway for the people who don’t want to ship internationally. I had to do it last time, and so did Whippet the first time. I also check to make sure you won’t paint for the same person again if you’ve been in the previous swaps. Surprisingly, though, I think I only had to throw 1 or 2 names back into the hat last time. For over 30 people, that’s good! So no, it doesn’t take much out of the randomness, I would say.

I can’t wait to see! Here’s the PYO Keeper/Male Dragon comparision shot from Melody’s gallery. The male is 9″ and the keeper is 8.5″ tall.

Probably, but I can only check the dragonmedley address from home, not from work (does that suck or what?) I’ll check as soon as I get home tonight.
