I know the feeling but my new supplier knows how to pack Ski got her Cat all the way in Germany and it was unharmed so there are still a few good ones out there

Well…it was packed in a bunch of grocery bags. Made me very nervous when I unwrapped it. It made it safe, though if the post office had been too rough with it, I think the ear would have gotten chipped. It was double boxed and I am convinced that is the kicker for shipping these guys. I wont do it any other way now.

Yes…it was very scary… There were lots and lots of grocery bags, though. Makes me wonder why someone would pay $1000 on a collectible and then ditch the original box?
November 22, 2006 at 7:56 am #509180That’s completely incomprehensible to me. And I would think that only a collector would pay that amount for a piece, so I’m really surprised that it was packed the way it was…
November 22, 2006 at 1:18 pm #509181Elijah does not have the storege for boxes. The outside box was a book box which is one of the strongest boxes you can ship in. I was not actually there when he packed up yours like I was for the packing of the others but he must have known what he was doing because all thw Windstones I shipped off got to their homes without any more damage then they had when they left here

Yes, but Elijah works for a store. I can understand a store not keeping a box…They dont have the room. But a private collector that pays $1000 for a piece? They should def keep the box. Really…how many $1000 pieces does the average collector have laying around? Not too many. Should not be hard for them to keep a box or two… or ten.
November 22, 2006 at 1:27 pm #509183Oh I thought there was a problem with the way your cat got shipped my bad

Oh no! The wizard cat arrived just fine and I knew it would not have the box. Me and Mimi were just referring to the limited edition large grey tabby flap cats.
November 22, 2006 at 1:31 pm #509189Oh Ok sorry

Or forty…I think that’s about how many I have now…

I’m getting there quick myself. I’m going to stop collecting for awhile after I get the griffins and mermaids. Then I will take a final tally. It will probably be mid-thirties.

So you guys are also keeping all of your original boxes? Do you have a creative way of storing them? The drawback is that they do take up quite a bit of space…

I have a garage at my condo and needless to say I can not fit my car in it. My collectable boxes and motorcycle live there along with all sorts of boxes I need to go through next week whenI’m on vacation. It has also been suggested to me to get some hanging storage things too -
